2 - The four initial ways

2.1 - Introduction
LaTale has four classes which you can choose from when you create your character. In this section I'll explain each one of them.

2.2 - Warrior
Description: "Warriors deal great damage in close combat.
They can use two-handed swords and spears.
Slash your enemies with ultimate rage! "
Weapons: Two-Handed Swords, Spears and Knuckles
Stats:
Strenght - Excellent
Stamina - Great
Magic - Weak
Luck - Weak
Pros:
- Very Begginer friendly.
- They can Deal high damage.
- They can take many hits.
- Their weapons can attack from a bigger distance than other Melee Weapons in general.
- Skills deal a lot of damage, with great AoE and OHKOing power.
- Best for soloing.
Cons:
- They have few or no ranged attacks.
- They don't have few support skills
- Their lack of defense can make battles against big mobs really dangerous.
- They have the lowest SP of all characters. Because of this you'll need to buy a lot of SP Potions if you're planning on spamming skills.

2.3 - Knight
Description: "Knights are the tanks of the party.
They are well-balanced in both offensive
and defensive stats. They can also use shields.
Block your enemy's attack with your
holy shield!
"
Weapons: One-Handed Swords + Shields, Blunt Weapons (Maces) + Shields and Knuckles
Stats:
Strenght - Average
Stamina - Excellent
Magic - Weak
Luck - Average
Pros:
- They are the best tankers.
- They have good supporting skills.
- They can withstand tons of damage.
- They have the highest survivability among all characters.
- They have Excellent defensive stats.
- Best for partying.
Cons:
- They have few or no ranged attacks.
- They have low SP, but not as low as Warriors.
- Their damage is probably the worst among all classes.

2.4 - Wizard
Description: "Wizards can use various elemental and healing
magics. They are bad at close combat due to their
low HP, but with the help of support magic, they overcome their weakness.
Blow your enemy away with your elemental power!"
Weapons: Staves, Daggers, Knuckles
Stats:
Strenght - Weak
Stamina - Average
Magic - Excellent
Luck - Good
Pros:
- Their attacks/skills are ranged.
- They have long reach with skills.
- They have the highest SP among classes.
- They have powerful AoE skills.
- They have healing and supporting abillities.
- They are the most diverse class.
- They can deal high damages with elemental skills.
- They can fly in their staves.
Cons:
- They are not very begginer friendly.
- They are the hardest class to train in the beggining.
- Their low HP can kill them with ease.
- They have low defensive stats.

2.5 - Explorer
Description: "Explorers are the quick-attack class with various
useful adventuring skills, whose stats are focused
on luck. They can learn many support skills.
Ranged weapons and daggers are their weapon of choice.
If you want versatility, this is your class!"
Weapons: Bows, Crossbows, Daggers, Knuckles

Luck - Excellent
Pros:
- Their attacks/skills can be Ranged or Melee, depending on your weapon of choice.
- They have good skills with decent damage.
- They have good amounts of HP and SP.
- They have some great AoE skills.
- They can use shields if they choose daggers as their weapon of choice.
Cons:
- Their defense is one of the worst, but bigger than Warrior's.
- Long-ranged can be easily killed in a face-to-face fight.
- They don't have much support skills.
- Getting in the middle of a big mob may be really dangerous.

Quote:

Warriors:
They don't have any support skills
Not is not exactly true.

They do have:

Bloodthirsty Aura
Quote:

Raises yourself and your party member's critical damage by 2% per level

Plus these two can be considered supportive, as it weakens enemies making it easier for parties to fight.

Overpowering Gaze
Quote:

Lowers targets' attack power around the caster by 2% per level
Threatening Gaze
Quote:

Lowers targets' defenses around the caster by 10% + 2% per level

At level 23, my knight's strength and luck have almost the same amount, 49 and 50 respectively.

I'd say knight strength is average, the same as luck.

We have both knuckle and dagger skills, I wouldn't say we don't have any =|

Funny.
My Knight is level 43 and has
83 Str
153 Sta
66 Mgc
81 Luck

Its gotten bigger by 2. Maybe you'll notice the difference end-game.

Ildanach 08-25-2008 12:10 AM

Well, I didn't say the stats gain are static, but both strength and luck have relatively the same amount.

@OP, I wouldn't say Knight is well balanced in both offensive and defensive stats. It's the exact antithesis of Warrior.

Thanks to all of you for your tips/sugestions, the guide has been updated! :P

The main reason people play Explorers and Treasure Hunters is to get the passive skills that increase the amount of Ely and rare drops that you get!

You should really list them under the Pros of Explorers.

Quote:

- Getting in the middle of a big mob may be really dangerous.
How is this different for any other class (barring knights)? If anything, this is a universal issue for all classes but knights.

Quote:

- Their defense is one of the worst, but bigger than Warrior's.
That would make their defense the second best in the game...

Quote:

- They have few or no ranged attacks.
Spears have long attack range, despite being melee, especially the level 40 pierce-line skill. Furthermore, Gun Lance tosses the spear damn far. Two-handed swords also cut a size-able distance, and the shockwave skills are rather decent for range too. Also, that double slash (level 20 multi-hit tree skill) has humongous range all around the warrior. Furthermore, they can throw their sword at level 60. Though the range of their attacks certainly do not match up to a projectile in most cases, warriors certainly have noticeabley longer range than a dagger, knuckles (except for the boom skills). and knights.

If anything the main problem should be their attack speed isn't all that fast, but it's not even that big of a con, since their skills make up for it anyway.

Quote:

- They can withstand tons of damage.
- They have the highest survivability among all characters.
- They have Excellent defensive stats.
This just seemed redundant.

Other than that, for the most part you've got it. Just add the bit about explorers having the ability to make moolah a bit better and how they can open chests (Which IIRC can contain soul urns), and that's basically it.
