Default Poetry Assignment (gawd I suck at it)

I need to find the theme and figurative language for this poem.

The Hill
by Rupert Brooke (1887-1915)

Breathless, we flung us on the windy hill,
Laughed in the sun, and kissed the lovely grass.
You said, "Through glory and ecstasy we pass;
Wind, sun, and earth remain, the birds sing still,
When we are old, are old. . . ." "And when we die
All's over that is ours; and life burns on
Through other lovers, other lips," said I,
---"Heart of my heart, our heaven is now, is won!"

"We are Earth's best, that learnt her lesson here.
Life is our cry. We have kept the faith!" we said;
"We shall go down with unreluctant tread
Rose-crowned into the darkness!" . . . Proud we were,
And laughed, that had such brave true things to say.
---And then you suddenly cried, and turned away.

Umm..I think it's about 2 lovers who are talking about their future and stuff about eternal love?(line 6 and 7) Figurative language..I think the stuff in 4th line could be symbols of peace? Really need help plx

Theme might be about the transcending of love, but the last line:
"---And then you suddenly cried, and turned away."
Gives it more of a darker, and sullen feel to it. My guess is how love can age and how it affects others. It seems that one has a romantic, expressive feel about love:
"Heart of my heart, our heaven is now, is won!"

Structurally, the author splits love into 2 feelings: one of joy and one of a more dark love.

Breathless, we flung us on the windy hill,
Laughed in the sun, and kissed the lovely grass.
You said, "Through glory and ecstasy we pass;
Wind, sun, and earth remain, the birds sing still,
When we are old, are old. . . ." "And when we die
All's over that is ours; and life burns on
Through other lovers, other lips," said I,
---"Heart of my heart, our heaven is now, is won!"

Lines 1-2 paint a happy scene. Two lovers frolicking in the field, and maybe even dancing in the sun.
Lines 3-4 introduce the partner and their view on love:
"Through glory and ecstasy we pass;
Wind, sun, and earth remain, the birds sing still,
When we are old, are old. . . ."

Though the two may be in love, as soon as they die, the world will go on like nothing happened. This character is more humbled about the love they share in that they don't exaggerate the feeling.

The rest of the first stanza is the more romantic partner who continues feeling overjoyed about the bond they share. The poem simply gives 2 viewpoints on love -- one of grand, beautiful love that is noticed by all, and a more quaint, humbled love that isn't as noticeable.

The poem has a ton of imagery and metaphors. I'm sure you can pick them up easily.

I'm quite tired right now, but this is as much as I'll probably ever get done. There's probably a few flaws, but I interpreted it as this after reading a few times.
