Highschool Physics problem
A 1.8kg object is pulled along the floor w/ a force if 7.0N acting horizontally. If the object accelerates at 2.4m/s^2, how much kinetic friction is acting?
i assumed it' looking for coefficient of friction but the answers are all in N
Answers are a. 26N b. 11N c. 10N d. 6.4N e. 4.9N
Here's what i'm thinking. i have 2 formulas
Ffriction = coefficient of friction x Fnet and
Fnet = ma
m = 1.8, a = 2.4 from question. So Fnet = 4.32N. I assumed then, the 7N in question is the friction force, but then...i would be finding what the coefficient of friction is..and i got 1.6 (what's the unit for it?) which doesn't match...and i dont' think it's in N.
I don't even know what the question is asking for, help please?
