Default Chemistry Help

1) The masses and volumes of two cylinders are measured. The mass of cylinder 1 is 1.35 times the mass of cylinder 2. The volume of cylinder 1 is 0.792 times the volume of cylinder 2. If the density of cylinder 1 is 2.00 g/cm^3, what is the density of cylinder 2?

2) A chemical manufacturer needs to store a large amount of baby oil (density = 0.960 g/mL in a cylindrical tank with radius 1.80 ft. Note: the volume of a cylinder is pi*r^2*h, where r is the radius and h is the height. How high (in feet) will the level of the oil be when the tank contains 3.50 ton of baby oil?

3) A patient has a blood count of 765 white corpuscles per cubic millimeter. How many white blood cells would be contained in 0.52 dL of the patient's blood?

Density = Mass/Volume

cylinder1_mass = 1.35 * cylinder2_mass

cylinder1_vol = .792 * cylinder2_vol

cylinder1_density = 2.00 g/cm^3 = (1.35 * cylinder2_mass)/(.792 * cylinder2_vol)

cylinder1_density = (1.35/.792) * (cylinder2_mass/cylinder2_vol)

So.

Density of cylinder 1 is about 1.705 times more than density of cylinder 2.

2.00 g/cm^3 = (1.705) * (cylinder2_density)

cylinder2_density = 2.00 g/cm^3 / (1.705)

cylinder2_density = 1.17 g/cm^3

I HOPE THIS IS RIGHT.

2)
1 mL = 1 cm^3
1 ft = 30.48 cm
radius =1.8*30.48 = 54.864 cm
1 ton = 1000000g (I THINK)
baby oil mass = 3500000g
.960=3500000g/(pi*54.864^2*h)
h = 3500000/(3.14*54.864^2*.96)
h=385.737825cm
h=12.655ft

3)
765 white corpuscles per mm^3
1 liter = 10 dL = 1000000 mm^3
1 dL = 100000 mm^3
.52 dL = 52000 mm^3
52000 * 765 = 39870000 white corpuscles in .52 dL of patient’s blood

I HOPE THESE ARE RIGHT

1 liter = 1000 milliliters
1 ton = 1000000 grams (I think)
So baby oil has 3500000 grams
.960 (g/mL) * (1000 mL/L) = 3500000 / (3.14 * 5.4864^2 * h)
960 g/L = 3500000 g /(3.14*5.4864^2 * h) dm^3
h = (3500000 g / (3.14*5.4864^2) dm^2) / 960 g/L
h= 38.57 decimeters aka 12.65 feet

nope #2 is wrong, but #3 is right.
thx alot for help

I'M SORRY FOR MY INCOMPETENCE.

TRY 12.66 FEET.

IF THAT DOESNT WORK.
THEN. ASSUMING BY TON YOU MEAN SHORT TON WHICH IS 907184.74 g

1 mL = 1 cm^3
1 ft = 30.48 cm
radius =1.8*30.48 = 54.864 cm
1 ton = 907184.74 g
baby oil mass = 3175146.59 g
.960=907184.74 g/(pi*54.864^2*h)cm^3
h = 907184.74/(3.14*54.864^2*.96)
h=349.935469 cm
h=11.48ft

IF THAT FAILS THEN I AM SORRY OH MAH GAWD
