Since I received a couple of e-mails regarding a possible IP ban I decided to post the the answer here on this thread for members who were wondering the same.
As some of you might or might not have noticed when signing up, the account you created is only eligible to people residing in the United States or Canada. A few European players were wondering if they plan to IP ban the other accounts once the game opens up to the public. The second paragraph of the ToS clearly states that this will not be the case unless a server is set up in the European area of service.
With some exceptions explained below, accounts are available only to persons residing in the United States or Canada who are 1) 18 years old or older and who are not barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or other applicable jurisdictions or 2) minors who are at least 13 years of age to whom a parent or legal guardian has given permission to create an Account. If you are a minor at least 13 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must give you his or her consent for you to register as a Member. The Game is not directed to children, and under no circumstances will the Service offered through this Website be available to minors under the age of 13. By registering an Account, you represent that you are either (i) a person of legal adult age and are not a person barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or other applicable jurisdictions or (ii) a minor who is at least 13 years of age who has obtained the permission of a parent or legal guardian to register as a Member. You may not transfer or share your Account with anyone. You are liable for all activities conducted through the Account, and parents or guardians are liable for the activities of their children. Corporations and other entities are not eligible to procure Accounts.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you are located outside the United States or Canada, you may be able to create an Account and play the Game if you are not in a country or territory where a localized version of the Game is offered. If you try to create an Account from a country or territory where a localized version of the Game is offered, you will be blocked from creating an Account for this version of the Game, so we encourage you to sign up for the localized version in your area. If you are outside the United States or Canada and not in a country or territory where a localized version of the Game is offered, you may create an Account and play the Game if you are 1) 18 years old or older and not barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or other applicable jurisdictions or 2) a minor who is at least 13 years of age to whom a parent or legal guardian has given permission to create an Account. However, for users outside the United States or Canada, we make no representation that the Service (including, without limitation, the software and the content) is appropriate for use in that location, so you agree to access the Service at your own risk and you are responsible for compliance with all local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable. The Game software is subject to United States export controls, and we reserve the right to limit, suspend, interrupt or terminate the availability of the service, in whole or in part, to you and any other user or person, geographic area or jurisdiction, at any time and in our sole discretion.
To put our community at ease I also contacted them personally to ask about service outside the United States and Canada.
I have a question regarding IP Blocks. A lot of the members at our fansite community live in Europe and they would like to know if you plan to block European players in the future? Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Hi -hidden for privacy reasons-,
We have received your inquiry. At current moment, we don't have any plans regarding IP blocks. Don't worry about that problem. =) Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions or suggestions/ comments.
HolyBeast ONLINE Management Team
I hope this will solve the concerns some of you had.
Every global version of a kMMORPG does this. Something about avoiding stealing customers, even though there is absolutely no reason the others should want to bother with our version, as we always tend to be the farthest behind.
Where did it say I am from Europe? o_o; I received a bunch of mails from people asking me about IP bans for European players hence I found it more than normal to ask the question in their name. I also forwarded the e-mail to those players. If you are from the United States or Canada then you have nothing to worry about. This is only directed to the European players in our community. I'm sure anyone with half a brain would know we have players from all over the world. Hence I don't see the problem with providing help to the European players as well.
There is currently a Euporean version of HBOnline in almost the start of closed beta.
As far as I know there is no European game company that has bought the rights yet so I highly doubt there will be any European service area for Holy Beast Online soon. If you claim things like this it would be nice to post some proof, otherwise I suggest to keep random theories to yourself.
