After discussing this issue with the GM team, management and EasyFun (the developers) we were able to correct the problem. This update will explain what happened, the bad news and the actions being taken.
What originally was thought to be a simple typo turned out to be a bigger issue. This was partly the reason for the lengthy downtime. All of the information appeared to be correct and we were still encountering the Alchemy problem. Even when the rewards rolled to the next day we were encountering this issue.
Fortunately the developers were able to isolate the Alchemy bug and found a way to correct it. Unfortunately after trying several possible fixes there was ultimately only one way to fix the bug.
The Bad News
In order for the developers to implement their fix, they needed to roll the servers back to the last maintenance database back up. Fortunately our last maintenance was on Monday, March 22nd.
This means that all game data was unfortunately rolled back. While there is no getting around the fact that time and effort was lost through the rollback, we want to provide the players with something as compensation. We also felt that it was important to try to keep the rarity of an item like this intact because this was not an item that many players had. The issue caused by having so many players on dragons was something that was affecting a large number of users and also needed to be addressed.
Since the game was rolled back one day, this means a couple things for people who purchased items using AP. If you purchased Magic Alchemy Clay, that clay will be given back to you to use again. Any other Item Mall purchases will result in accounts being refunded the AP amount that was spent.
Player compensation will come in multiple forms:
Bonus Exp and Drop
* On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday +50% Exp and Drop will be activated
* On Saturday there will be Double Experience for 24 hours
* On Sunday there will be Double Drop for 24 hours
* All players who have logged into Grand Fantasia in the last 7 days will receive the following item package:
* x2 Greater Experience Charms
* x5 Gaia's Blessing Lv 4
* x1 Greater Blacksmith's Repair Mallet
* x1 Craftsman's Crystal Chisel
* All players who had a Messenger's Black Dragon (that was removed during the rollback) will receive a Gaia's Divine Gem. This gem is non-tradable and provides +50% Exp and Drop for 24 hours.
The Grand Fantasia Team cannot apologize enough for the problems caused by this bug but we are very thankful that the community was very patient during this downtime.
Some of these changes are going to take some time (item and AP distribution specifically). We appreciate your patience in this matter and will keep everyone updated through this post, the website and in-game announcements once we've determined the best way to distribute these item packages to the community. More than likely an Item Key will be emailed to each player so that they can redeem their items. Please make sure that you have opted in for Aeria emails (done through the edit profile settings) and that Aeria is not blocked. If this is how the items are ultimately distributed, an exact date will be given beforehand so players can prepare.
*GM EDIT* The web mall will is being turned off so purchases will not be available.
**Update** We are going to be bringing the servers down at 3PM PST so that this problem can be corrected. We do not have an ETA for when the servers will be back up.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
As many people are well aware, the rare reward in Round 1 (The Messenger's Black Dragon) is being rewarded at an alarming rate.
Based on the documentation we have, this should not be the case and it seems that there is a typo in the percentages for the items in Round 1. As seen in many threads the Dragon in Round 1 is being rewarded very very often.
We are aware of the problem and are actively working to find a way to correct it. We will update this thread once we have more information about a potential solution and how we are going to move forward.
Thank you for your patience.
