Element Thread

Ok, so since this is a hot question being asked, I guess I'll start a discussion about it.

Elements: Fire, Ice, Lightning

'+' ~ Pros
'-' ~ Cons



Fire
+AoE early on (Fireball)
+Knock enemies back (Fireball)
+Ability to use the 'Burning' status
+Provides constant damage
+2nd Stance is full of AoEs (Hell Fire, Infernal Flames, and Meteor Strike)
+Has the most targets in 1 AoE than Ice or Lightning
-Weak damage (and constantly, too)
-In Possession stance, there is no Lv 12 spell which limits your artillery

[Overall] Fire is more of an AoE-based element because of it's large selection of AoE-spells and a smaller, spammable AoE early on.

Ice
+AoE early on (Freezing Spear; not a very good AoE hitting only 3 targets)
+Able to slow down enemies (really good if you're being swarmed and don't have large AoEs)
+Constant Damage
+Can AoE and Single-target very well (Absolute Zero is a boss-killer and Blizzard is an AoE)
-Although it can do both (Single-target and AoE) very well, it doesn't do one the best
-AoEs target less than Fire

[Overall] It's a pretty good stance if you don't like switching elements all the time. You've got some neat AoEs (Cold Storm, Deluge, and Blizzard) as well as spells that can inflict high damage to one target (Absolute Zero).

Lightning
+Super-high damage spammable Single-target attack in Possession (I still use it to take down bosses)
+Inflicts Shock
+AoE can deal massive damage
-There is always a chance of you hitting only 1 damage. :/

[Overall] Lightning is a love-or-hate element. It's potential for 1-hit is amazing, but it's potential for hitting 1 damage is horrifying. In comparison to Ice and Fire, Lightning is just a risk-taker that can do both job's easily.

Of course.
Eles are more AoE/skill-orientated though. Just be wary that AFKing will be a lot less painful with a Musk. But in active leveling, Eles have the upper hand.

I believe you won't be able to hit flying enemies and you will be less effective at AFKing, but moreso at actively grinding.

Eles can hit flying enemies as far as I know.

it does hit flying enemy but it takes longer for it to kill. i lvled my ele at terta it hit those flying monster.

That's weird because when I was leveling with my Wiz and Ele at the same time, only my Wizard would hit flying enemies.

My Ele was the only one who attacked Paisar Captain when it attacked me. :< (Adelina just stood there and looked cute)

Yes. Just keep in mind your DPS against bosses might be lower, but you'll be able to kill mobs much more quickly.

I also want to add that fire has a freaaking long cast time for their stronger AEs, but I didn't mess around with the other elemental stances to compare. All I know is that 10 seconds for an 8 target AE is ridiculous. I think fireball is the best one out of Fire's arsenal, simply because it's fast and knocks down. (You need this a lot) -hugs Fireball-

EDIT: Also, keep in mind Fire isn't useful against mobs in the Tetra Catacombs and such, cause they're fire element, so you might not always use it first early on.

Ice is a good element to use in the beginning. Fire and lightning is midway in your levels and at the end its basically a choice of preference. Although Ice i would say is a good choice to stick to just because of the Freeze/Absolute Zero & Blizzard spells. Lightning is good for its Chain Lightning and Thunderstorm which you can spam (I do it a lot). Fire.. well Fireball and uh.. that AOE spell in evocation.. the first one.. thats about it. I wouldnt use the last fire skill like said before.. it does damage n stuff.. but it takes sooooo long x__x..

In mass scale PvP, Meteor Strike is very useful. For one, people might start lagging with all the stuff going on so they won't be able to react in time. It's a large area so you can get a lot of people, and it has 10~ targets.

Also at Vet, the casting time will be greatly reduced with the new Vet stance for Scouts -- Tactical Assisstance.

Tactical Assistance is only a family-buff, as far as the description says.
Let's hope it does buff squad members. I'd like faster cast times, even though most of my spells/skills don't take that long anyway.
