Is it acceptable though for people to use the rep system to provoke, harass, instigate, use sarcasm, offending you and whatnot just because they can leave comments together with it as well?
Just because it is "anonymous" certain people will abuse it in a way or find this an alternative way to get back at you with the above mentioned methods. People, even in this thread, have pointed out this type of thing still happens.
You can say its all just a nifty feature, purely cosmetics, but is there really a need to be able to leave comments whether it be positive or negative?
From what I understood you can disable the rep system, but that doesn't change the fact you will get to see the comments or keep getting repped. They are right in your face when you go to your user control panel as well.
If people want to leave positive feedback in a way they agree, find your post helpful or even have criticism and etc etc (of course as long as it follows the forum rules) why can't they just do it so in the corresponding thread?
I suggest to just remove the ability to leave a comment and just purely have the rep system as the pretty green, black or red colors. Isn't that what the rep system really was for intended, just pure cosmetic. This will cut down on the issues that is presented with this rep system for both the users and staff that are dealing with them as well.
