Guild Moderator Review

Hi everyone,

As most of you know, we provide forums for ggFTW guilds and allow the guild leaders moderation power over those forums. Guild leaders are identified by a light blue name and have certain other perks associated with being a guild leader. Over time, however, guilds change leaders and do not notify us; this introduces risk to our site by having stale moderator accounts.

Starting October 15th, we'll begin reviewing guild moderators once per month to make sure they're still active. To retain your guild moderator status, you must have your guild listed in the ggFTW Guilds System and you must be listed as a guild leader for that guild. After October 15th, guild moderator change requests where guild leaders have not been updated in the ggFTW Guilds System will not be honored.

We apologize for any inconvenience; using this method will help reduce risk to our site and ensure guild leaders are updated regularly. If you do not know how to add your guild to the ggFTW Guild System, please find a few helpful links below. Please note, you must be logged in to add a guild.

Uhm... When would you consider a guild mod inactive?

If they haven't logged in for 30 days, we made an update about this sometime last year.

What would happen if a sub-mod is inactive/MiA? (Mainly that one person in my forum mod list that starts with a A...)

(And again in a desperate limbo to find my fourth sub-mod recruit.)

We won't remove them from your guild page, but they will lose their light blue name and guild forum moderation powers if they are not active for 30+ days. It's up to the guild owner to update leaders on the guild page.

WHAT IF you're not able to log on for over a month? For example a really long vacation, internet problems, power supply problems etc.

I guess you could easily get your mod powers back again... Am I right?

I'm thinking too much.

Yup, we have no issue adding them back if they become active again. It's not good to leave inactive moderator accounts lying around -- even if their damage is limited to guild sections.

Like umm,what would happen if the guild leader of the section is not active?

The same thing that would happen if any of the other moderators went inactive, heh. One would presume a guild leader would stay active or pass the guild torch to the next sub-leader

What if it's a guild leader in the game section like LaTale instead of the universal guild page. ;x

There are no "section" in the new guild system -- guilds list the games in which they may be found when creating/editing the guild page.

Yeah but half the guilds with "guild forums" here haven't even bothered to create a guild page.

Also, guild forums that haven't been used in > 3 months will be marked inactive and hidden from public view. Guild forums that haven't been used in over a year will be removed.

Not only that, but they consume less resources. The database is already huge -- removing the inactive stuff will help conserve.

I'm really hoping I don't have to remove them -- I'd rather the guilds actually use them :x

Uh..I'm still logging in ( I still play lunia / LoL ) however my guild ( Solstice ) died already and I'm in dashattack. I like my blue name though q_q.

Sorry, that's reserved for guild leaders only to manage their guild forums.
