Updates to /gg FTW Portal, Round 3

We've been really busy over the Thanksgiving holidays adding more content and optimizing the portal. In addition to the new forums we announced and previous developments (announcement 1) (announcement 2), we've removed the game forums list from the portal and moved these links under their respective game info page. We've also added a /gg FTW! on Facebook module to the forum sidebar and added the following game information pages:

Our goal is to have an info page for at least every game for which we have a report card. It takes an immense amount of time to add these pages due to the research required; if you have screenshots, videos, or information on a game we don't have please feel free to drop these in a thread in the Questions, Feedback & Suggestions forum. We can use all the help we can get on this initiative. If you know of a hot new MMO game that's missing from our forum list please request a new game forum in our Game Forum Requests board. We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and look forward to more game articles and reviews starting Monday!

The hardest things to come across are videos and screenshots. For the games, we like to have one video and at least 4 screenshots for the page. If the videos are on youtube the must be on an official publisher channel else we have to upload them to our own channel. For the screenshots they must be either from an official source (publisher page, dev page, foreign publisher page) or from your own gameplay. All the rest of the info I can find relatively easily -- those two aspects increase the time to make these pages from 10 minutes to sometimes upwards of an hour.

If you can post up screenshots for games which we have a reportcard for but no game info page for and videos that would be hot -- but if the video isnt on an official youtube channel i'll need you to send it to me rather than posting. List of all games with no info page:

What is the preferred image size for screenshots? And format for videos?

It's hard to set a preferred size as some games lock at 800x600 while others scale to 1920x1200. Anything taken at your normal playing resolution should be fine.

With videos - anything YouTube will accept. XviD, DivX, h.264 -- all of these are fine, container should be .avi or .wmv preferably.

Sounds easy enough. My computer isn't the best so I'll try to play games with lower system specs. I probably won't get very far in the games though, lol.

Is it ok if the videos are from a foreign version? Also, is there a preferred recording program to use? I don't know which to use cause some give watermarks and such.

I would prefer that all videos and screenshots come from the U.S/Global version but at the end of the day, gotta do what you gotta do. I use Fraps for video recording and I don't really know of anything else. With the videos it's optimal to find CG or promotional trailers. Most of the game sites have videos for download -- it just takes a while to find them sometimes.

So I started collect videos and screenies of the games, but a question comes up. Can I just take random screenies from other people and use them? I'd really prefer not downloading every game, just the ones with absolutely no screenies/videos.

If the screenshots don't come from the official site, they need to be taken by you. Last thing I want is to get the same reputation another game site has of "stealing everyone's content", heh.

I've been just making threads in the Feedback/Suggestions section with them, Noe said it's easiest on him if he uploads them to the gallery him self and uses them.
