MyLunia (www.mylunia.net) Migrates to MyMMOGames

On the day of the Ijji launch of Lunia, things turned bad for the MyLunia community. At the time this is posted, the site [is/was] down for [26] hours. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that MyLunia was sold and no one knows the new owner's intentions - but what we do know it that it [is/was] down. A combined decision of the MyLunia staff was to migrate the community to MyMMOGames.

Lunia will return to feature status on MyMMOGames - complete with its own subforums and wiki namespace. The same staff you all know and trust will be integrated into the MMOG staff. We're working our hardest to try and make this migration as painless as possible, but some things will change. MMOG has different rules, different forums, and different people. In the past, we've seen rifts created between merging communities and we're going to do our best to ensure that does not happen, but we need your help.

This migration actually brings many benefits to the MyLunia Community:

• Active server admins to address security issues and bring new features.
• Forum admins have the power to actually do their jobs
• Access to MMOG's member blogs, image galleries, and the ability to participate in our contests.
• A knowledgeable, helpful wiki staff to keep unwanted spam off the wiki.
• A full community rather than a "forum"
• A well developed "interests" section for off-topic discussion
• Customizable guild forums
• ... and many more

Some issues that have been raised and addressed:

MMOG has different rules - what if we get banned and we don't even know what we did wrong?

While I suggest that everyone reads the MMOG rules, I know there will be some growing pains. We'll do our best to work with you but we ask that you do your best to work with us.

Will we lose our affiliation with Ijji?

Well, if MyLunia never comes back up, then yes. MMOG works closely with many publishers, however, and will strive to work closely with Ijji as well.

What about our MoMs?

MMOG has been planning to implement MoM (MotM) for a while now. Until criteria are set, past ML members that have won the award will be awarded it on MMOG retroactively.

We don't know your staff!

That's ok, because the ML staff will be integrating into the MMOG staff. You'll see the same familiar moderators and admins you've always seen.

It worked this way on MyLunia!

While we've attempted to make everything as transparent as possible, this is a new community with new rules, new features, new staff, and new people. Some things will change but we're confident that the change is for the better. Some people will not like it and will leave - and we accept that. There are really only a few options here - migrate to Ijji's official forums, stay on ML and pray it stays up (if it comes back up), start your own fansite, or try to find another Lunia site.

MyLunia was a very close-knit community. MMOG is huge compared to it!

Well, perhaps you can help us with that "close-knit" feeling, because that is our goal. Get to know some new people, plug into the community, and don't just "not try" because it's something new. Give it a shot, you may like it!

I hope that I addressed some of the more common concerns. If you don't like something here or thing something should be done differently/better, please feel free to post a suggestion in our Questions, Feedback & Suggestions forum. While we cannot promise we'll implement each one, we can promise that each one will be reviewed and considered for the overall benefit to the community.

Hey guys, this is Red/Rhikiri from MyLunia.net, most of you know me so I will skip the intro.

Everyone probably noticed the frequent downtimes of MyLunia in the past, and this major downtime really pushed things and made us decide on something; something that will benefit the community and something that will make everyone happy at the end.

Yes, that something is this merge with the MyMMOGames community. This is planned, and has been planned very carefully. We considered every aspect of it, and we decided on this. I love MyLunia as much as most of you do, I was on the Moderator Team since August, 2007 and I have worked hard towards MyLunia but considering the situation at the moment, this merge was necessary.

I, Red/Rhikiri will try my best to support NoeJeko, MyMMOGame and the Lunia Community. I hope you will all support us.

We can't do a proper merge as we don't have a database dump - ML has been down > 30 hours and no one knows if it's coming back up... so it's basically a blind migration.

This thread is SEO'd in hopes to hit page 1 on Google... and Red and staff are trying to find ways to reach people.

I can't speak for the MyLunia community, but the MMOG staff have invested a lot of time and money into this community. We will not let it fail. The fate of the Lunians is up to those that come over and try to make it work.
