How much would you sell your right to vote?

Assuming that it's legal for you to vote, anyway.

Of course there are a lot of factors. How many votes you'd be selling off, who you're selling it to, the amount of other people selling their vote, etc.

Just found this an interesting topic on another forum.

If it would only be for one time, not my right to vote for the rest of my life, I think I could exchange it for $1 million. I wouldn't sell my RIGHT to vote, just one vote.

Milkshakes 06-26-2010 02:41 AM

Probably any amount, I'd just vote for the other person, they'd never know!

What if you'd have to show them what you chose to vote for before putting your vote in the box?

They can do that? Aren't politicians like, not allowed to to precints?

I don't see anything about that it had to be a politician who'd buy it :jj:.
Also, they could hire people to control for them.

Aimee 06-26-2010 09:48 AM

Wouldn't sell.

Sandrie 06-26-2010 10:05 AM

I wouldn't sell.

Shnao 06-26-2010 01:09 PM

Aimee and Sandrie, ditto.

Noctis 06-26-2010 01:17 PM

I'd probably sell for $4k-5k if I don't have a candidate I want to vote for. Unless they're paying me to vote for someone I was planning to vote for anyway. I wouldn't sell my RIGHT to vote. Just one vote at a single election.

Light 06-26-2010 04:13 PM

I'd sell my right to vote for 1 Million, because in Canada no one really gives two shits about elections in comparison to America.

Makes me mad that America has it as a big deal (and it is), and Canada is just "oh yeah vote for this guy" on some poster or TV ad.

Aren't ballots confidential? Wouldn't show it to anyone, if you ask me. o.e

1 mil USD is pretty good, the promises and campaigns are all BS once people start complaining about change.

SilentSaber 06-28-2010 12:45 AM

One million, then move out to another country where 1M USD is plenty for a lifetime and then some. (I'm assuming this is some shady untaxed deal. If it's going to be taxed for any reason, I'd want more...)

Sodacan 07-01-2010 07:50 AM

I don't vote but I wouldn't sell my right. It's mine and you can't ****ing have it.

Ian 07-11-2010 03:35 AM

Around 400 million dollars is good enough to quit working and living the good life for the rest of my life. Hahah!

Lol ''good enough''. If you don't waste it all it'll last for many more lives.

Griever 07-11-2010 05:10 AM

I have absolutely no faith in the government so I would sell my RIGHT to vote for a couple hundred (enough for a new PC.)

This, if there are no strings attached to this deal. If there are exceptions I'm damn well going to be clinging to my rights.

JustinBieber 07-12-2010 12:22 PM

As much as I could get. <_<
