Anyone know a good 'date organizer'

I really don't know what to call it but a program that I can put in important dates, assignment deadlines etc. and it will alert when when it's the day or coming near.

I have a calender and I never look at it, haha. Since I'm always on my computer I might as well have something alert me when times are coming close.
I kind of want to get organized since my senior years of high school are here, might as well start now.

So does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Google Calendar? Since I have my phone set-up with Gmail too I get an email notification too (it's set to 10 minutes before). It's fairly helpful but fairly basic. If you're looking for something more intense, I have no idea.

Thanks, I tried the Google Calendar as well as Lightning by Mozilla. I found something called Rainlendar which seems to fit my needs with the alarm prior to the event etc and I can set it to a song hehe. I'll probably try this for a while and see how it goes. If not google calender seems to be working good and I think would be more reliable.
