"In 2 B.C., Janggeon who was ordered from Wu Di (Muje), emperor of Han (One of ancient China's countries) explored up to the outside of India for the first time. Due to that, safer route which could be connected with each other had been opened. Via that road, the Chinese silk began to flow to Roma in Europe." -Silkroad Prologue

Me and some friends started playing Silkroad Online a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed it.
There's quite alot you can do with your characters. Both the European and Chinese have different styles of play.
Europeans have melee, caster and buffer types with two classes; warrior and rogue, wizard and warlock, bard and cleric.
Chinese however have a different set. Weapon mastery for swordsmanship, spearmanship and bowmanship and force mastery with elements such as cold force, lightning force, fire force, and force power.
You can mix any of these styles with each other to make some very unique characters. For example my European rogue cleric that uses a crossbow.
The two also have other differences as well. Europeans have a higher potion cool time, while Chinese can use theirs pretty quickly after use. I'm sure there's more differences too.
As for the gameplay itself, the world map goes from Europe to Asia and leveling isn't to hard considering there's plenty of quests to do. Most good quests come in a series where you have to complete the previous to get the next.
One of the games features include it's unique trade system. Once you're level 20 you can become a merchant, hunter, or thief. Merchants buy goods to be transported from one town to another, earning them a nice sum of money. Thieves are always on the watch for these merchants and will attempt to rob them of those goods to sell to the black market. Merchants can hire hunters for protection against the thieves, making a nice triangle conflict.
Trade runs range from one star (easy) to five star (hard).
Monsters in Silkroad come in a few types. General is the basic type, Champion is like two generals put together, they also look bigger, but are less common to find. They'll give you quite a lot more exp and skill points too. Giant is the biggest one and usually more rare then champions. Elite is the most rare and I've only seen one before.
When in a party, party type monsters will spawn. These monsters have greatly increased HP and attack power but will give a ton of exp.
When killing monsters you'll sometimes get red orbs that fill up your berserk meter. Once it's full you can press tab to go into berserk mode. You'll glow red and have about two times the attack power and greatly increased movement speed.
It looks like this o:
I haven't done any PvP so I can't really say how that goes. I think it looks fun though :3
The only thing that I don't like about the game is the amout of players like this;
They seem to be all over China but not as much in Europe. The game will always have these bot type people and hopefully they get taken care of. GM's do some inspections but you can't get rid of all of them @_@
Me and some friends from Trickster Online's Exodus guild have made NoBraExodus (Talk to Pharoe about the name) on Silkroad's Hera server. So if anyone is interested, come say hi~
Also check out these cool comics :3
