Media: A single self-loading media bay will play 12-centimeter proprietary high-density optical discs for the new console, as well as 12-centimeter Wii optical discs.

Video Output: Supports 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i. Compatible cables include HDMI,component, S-video and composite.

Audio Output: Uses AV Multi Out connector. Six-channel PCM linear output through HDMI.

Storage: The console will have internal flash memory, as well as the option to expand its memory using either an SD memory card or an external USB hard disk drive.

CPU: IBM Power®-based multi-core microprocessor.

Other: Four USB 2.0 connector slots are included. The new console is backward compatible with Wii games and Wii accessories.

The whole conference confused the heck out of me. I was like, is the controller the new console, or is it a controller of r a new console? They didn't seem to brag about the console capabilities that much, except tease us with graphics at the end.

No one expected the new console to be a controller.

Nintendo is going into hardcore-gamer mode.

Is it just me, or do some of the features remind anybody else of the Sega Dreamcast's Controller/VMU?

Either way, this will definitely be a must buy.

The most exciting bit of news came when he announced another SSB title for the system. Then I sadfaced when he said it would work in conjointment with the 3DS port.

Edit @Pwn: Yeah, I just now realized that after doing more research lol. It didn't help that everyone on the twitter feed said the controller was the new console. Sony/Microsoft fanboys be trollin.

At least the buttons aren't all over the place. I hope it's light so we could easily hold it with one hand while using our other hand to fiddle with the touch screen

Am I the only one that isn't amazed by this? All I see is it's a new controller that has new features..not a redefining console that newer consoles should be. Sony and Microsoft left.
