From what they just showed the editor is god tier.
With the editor you can actually turn the game into a third person shooting game and turn it into a bullet hell game like Touhou. You can make completely custom units as well that can do anything. They showed the Zerg "Uberlisk" that had other Zerg units(spine crawlers) mounted on its back that shot other units, when it died it sent out a massive aoe that killed everything.
New profession: Archaeology. Collecting artefacts involving the Titans.
"Dark days ahead" for people living during the time of the cataclysm.
Phasing can now add and remove terrain based on your progress. Coasts will be progressively more flooded depending on how far you are in a storyline for example.
A new guild advancement system will let you earn guild perks and level a guild through 20 levels with points to spend in a talent tree. You will access abilities such as cheaper repairs, less durability loss on wipes, or mass resurection.

The Worgen Form is cosmetic only, out of combat you can pick between Human or Worgen. In combat you will be a worgen.
Stats, Classes, Items and Professions
Mana/5 sec is gone. Spirit now regenerates mana.
All healers will get a Meditation like skill. (In combat regeneration)
Mages and Warlocks won't have to deal with Spirit on their gear anymore.
Spell Power is also gone. Intellect now provides mana AND Spell Power
Hunters and Enhancement Shamans won't have to worry about intellect anymore
Attack Power is also gone.
Agility now provides 2 AP for rogues, hunters, shaman, and druids. Plate-wearers won't steal your gear anymore!
Defence is gone. No more juggling around the cap. Tanks will receive the needed anti crit from talents (Survival of the Fittest)
Armour Penetration is gone. It was too confusing and is now replaced with a mastery.
Mastery makes you better at what you do. (more on this later)
Haste now increases rate which you gain energy, runes, rage, and focus.
Talents for Enhancement and Retribution will make this work.
Block value goes away. A block mitigates a percentage of damage. It is now a real mitigation stat.
With No Defence, Spell Power, Attack Power = more Stamina for all.
Hunters no longer use mana but now use focus.
A new legendary weapon for Death Knights, Paladins and Warriors will be dropping in Icecrown Citadel, the two handed axe: Shadowmourne.
Skills no longer have ranks, when you learn a spell and level up it levels up as well (like in Warhammer).
Secondary profession (like cooking)
The profession will let you collect Artifacts throughout the world.
It will be used to unlock Paths of the Titan. (Character progression, more about it tomorrow)
It will also give you unique rewards like vanity pets, instant travel to a dungeon, titles, unique recipes for other professions, etc.
Reforging is another way to customize your gear.
It will be relatively cheap, you will need a Blacksmith / Leatherworker / Tailor / Jewelcrafter / Engineer to do it.
Each profession get to reforge a type of items.
It lets you reduce one stat for another. Some restrictions will apply, you can't put the extra stat on something that is already on the item.
Path of the Titans
Talent trees won't be extended, you will just get 5 more talent points.
The Path of the Titans will let players follow a path (not restricted to classes), this is a new talent system with new skills and passive abilities.
A mastery system is being added as well, a lot of talents will be reworked to be more fun. The point is to get rid of a lot of the talent skills and not make you spend all your points in a talent tree just because it gives you more damage or higher crit chance.
Multi-gains will be added, while you level up your trade skills, rare items will give you more points as you skill up. (Rare items will give you 5 points for example, while green bracers will only give one)
Gathering should be a little more fun.
Engineering is a very fun tradeskill, but it's either amazing or it sucks and everybody drops it. More convenient items like Jeeves or Wormhole Generator will be added to the profession in the future to get back to the roots of Engineering.
Fishing will also have some big changes, no details yet but it's going to be more fun.
Hunter's mana is GONE!!!
Hunters now use focus, no longer care about intellect or mana regen.
Focus regenerates contunously, Steady shot improves the rate of getting focus bag.
Rogue energy comes back at a 10 / sec rate, Hunter focus comes back at 6/sec (12/sec with steady shot)
A shot costs 10 to 30 focus.
Hunters will have fewer cooldowns on abilities
Ammos will become an item, not a consumable.
Soul Shards are no longer in your bags. The goal is to make them fun, not a hassle.
Soul Shards will be integrated to the user interface. (Just like Death Knight runes)
You get three shards per fight, they will regen very quickly out of combat.
It will be possible to get more for long fights or mistakes through Drain Soul.
Soul Burn (New Spell) : Cost 1 Shard, 30 sec cooldown, off the GCD. Empowers your next spell, many (not all spells) behave differently when empowered.
Empowered Searing Pain : Next 3 Searing Pains crit.
Empowered Summon Demon : Instant Cast.
Empowered Soulfire : Instant Cast.
Empowered Fear : Instant Cast.
Empowered Death Coil : Longer Horror, more healing received.
They are only used in combat, summons or demons won't use your shards.
Specific Zone Info
The druid from Wailing Caverns has succeeded in turning the Barrens into a lush zone.
Desolace is a lot more greener.
Stonetalon Mountains will be more connected to Ashenvale.
Azshara will be the new 10-20 leveling zone for Goblins. Azshara Crater is now gone.
The Undercity is now fully rebuilt.
Sunken City of Vashj'ir and Mount Hyjal are the new 78+ starting zones and both will link to Deepholm and from there to all the other new zones including the elemental plane of water.
Vashj'ir is the original location of the Well of Eternity of City of Azshara.
Deepholm will be possibly the biggest zone in Cataclysm and be the central hub for the expansion with the Temple of Earth.
Uldum will have two instances, has an Egyptian feel. It is rumoured to hold a Titan super weapon and home of the Titan creation called the Tol'vir a stone catlike people live there. The events of Ulduar will have a "crazy" affect on Azeroth later down the line.
Mount Hyjal is under siege from Ragnaros who is now trying to burn down the World Tree after being banished back to his elemental plane. Malfurion Stormrage is back from the Emerald Dream with the "Army of Cenarius". Both of them are quite pissed.
In Twilight Highlands, Grim Batol is sundered in half from Deathwing landing there and is the headquarters of the Twilights Hammer. Two port towns for Horde/Alliance are there and the red flight have a base and have been pushed back and the Twilight Dragonflight is being made and will be there.

With the world in the state its in, what do you really think the world's greatest Shaman would need to do? I'll leave it at that.
10:53AM Now that Hunters no longer use mana or intellect, how will they handle gearing since they shared gear with Enhancement Shaman? Ghostcrawler: Ret Paladins are a good example of how they'll do it, because they don't gear Int anymore either.
10:51AM They don't want plate wearing DPS to use leather, but do they also plan on stopping Holy Paladins and Resto Shaman from grabbing cloth? It is a problem, but they're not sure how to address it yet.

It might come into play in talents or things like Battle Stance. And if the loss of Armor Pen really sets people back, they'll find other ways to buff them.
10:45AM Will heirlooms scale to 85? Stockton says that guilds will be able to craft guild heirlooms, for the entire guild in any slot. They will scale every level.

10:44AM A lady asking about account security. Any plans to improve base account security, since people are getting hacked so often, or is it just authenticators? J. Allen Brack: We're focusing heavily on the authenticators because if someone gets keylogged, more often than not users still have it on their computer when they get their account back and it just gets grabbed again. Anything on-computer will be compromised. Authenticators are the way to go.
10:42AM Warlock asking for more PvP survivability, audience boos. Ghostcrawler says there was a problem for awhile, but it has improved and they're doing pretty good. Chilton adds that at the tournament going on at BlizzCon this weekend, Warlocks are seeing heavy play in various comps.
10:41AM Any further visual character customization on the way? Chilton answers: This problem has gotten worse over time now that more and more people can experience endgame content, so they want to address. They aren't sure how, but they want to hit it soon.

10:29AM "Will the Cataclysm impact the Burning Crusade era starting zones, and will we see Khadgar again?" Yes, the Cataclysm will impact those quest lines. Not a lot of terrain changes, but the quest line will reflect what's happened. Chris Metzen: "As far Khadgar, that's a great idea." Meaning yes.
10:28AM Question about battleground XP gains being too low. Chilton says that yes, they will continue to tweak it, but they need to figure out a resolution for the much higher XP gains in Alterac Valley first so they don't encourage XP leeching.
10:27AM Are there plans to update old racials to match the new racials. Specifically, Dwarves. Ghostcrawler: "What, have a problem with Treasure Finding?" They do plan on revisiting the old races to bring their racials in line with the new ones. More fun.
10:26AM Guild leveling system. How will you make an old system like that fit WoW? J. Allen Brack: "You mean how we did achievements?" Stockton: They have a lot of ideas for what they can do with it, it will make people feel better about being in guilds and make it feel more important than glorified IRC. There will be details at this afternoon's systems panel. "We'll have a guild talent tree, can the others say that?"
10:24AM Chris Robinson added to it: It's going to be killer, when we release it it will be worth it.
10:24AM Question about dance studios. Chilton: We're actively working on it, the animation team is working hard at it. They've made several dances already, and want many more before they put it out.
10:23AM Will Hunters get more specific control over their pets? They've discussed it a lot, perhaps RTS-like waypoints for making it come back to you, perhaps a teleport spell on a cooldown so pets stop running through walls of fire when you call it back.
10:22AM Any plans for Warriors, since they've fallen behind? Any plan to make them on par with tanks without homogenizing? Ghostcrawler: It's an ongoing challenge to give people the tools they need without homogenizing. Warrior tanks did get two big buffs recently, and they will look at it again when people are in the new gear.
10:21AM All of Azeroth will be impacted, but Northrend won't be hit as hard as everything else. As for Outland, they feel it played its role, people still level through it. They'll look at the leveling flow in Outland for Cataclysm, and it will get Archaeology. Metzen says he'd love to do more with it, but hasn't convinced the rest of the gang to "do his bidding."

1:56PM "Any plans to go to Nazjatar, and will we see an Azshara encounter?" No Nazjatar, but we may learn things about Azshara.
1:56PM Argent Coliseum hard modes won't be near the difficulty of Yogg+0 but will be much harder than the normal modes.
1:55PM Hard modes get iterated a lot because they're difficult to test.
1:54PM How extensive is your raid testing, and did anybody internally kill Yogg+0 pre-nerf? Daelo: Encounter team is 5-people, but we bring in other leads and raiders on staff for the 10-man. It's hard to get 25 developers together, but QA does those. "It's pretty much impossible for 25 people on QA to reach the skill level of a good raid. They didn't beat Yogg+0, they got spanked pretty hard by Yogg+4."
1:53PM Will we get a cinematic planned for Arthas's death, or something special? "100%. Absolutely. It's going to be awesome, there's no way you're going to be disappointed."
1:52PM Will attunement quests be coming back? "It's a possibility." If it's the right place and the right time, you might see them. They use other mechanics as well, the one boss a week of Argent Coliseum.
1:49PM Nefarian, Ragnaros and Onyxia have come back, and Naxxramas has come back. Any plans for, say... Ahn'qiraj? Stockton: We have no plans for that. Onyxia is the only one of the recent crop that is reused. The rest is influenced. Blackrock Descent is brand new content.
1:48PM Will the focus on AOE on raids bosses continue, or will we go back to single target? Daelo: There was an evolution towards AOE DPS, especially in 5-man dungeons. We gave everyone CC, then nobody used it because they didn't need it. We play on using casters more in dungeons so that's not as easy. Raids will be varied.
1:47PM "The Sons of Hodir loved when I polished their helm, but they didn't care that I saved their dad. Will you bring back reputation in raids?" Stockton says yes, they want to continue implementing rep in dungeons, but the guy heading up that system isn't at the panel. Sounds like Afrasiabi is in charge of that.

1:44PM There's a solution being deployed right now. Some servers already have it. The tech that allows them to fix this problem is the same tech that empowers cross-server LFG. In a few months, this problem shouldn't ever be seen again.

1:43PM There will be a reward system for it. If you're the leader of a PUG and you complete the dungeon successfully, you will be rewarded. Tentative release is 3.3.0, definitely before Cataclysm.

1:42PM You can LFG for 5-man instances with players from other realms. "The tech supports raids, but we're going to kick it off with only 5-players." It will work off of battlegroups, like battlegrounds.

1:32PM Wow, multiple 5-man dungeons in Icecrown. 8 bosses across the dungeons. An epic questline carries you from one wing to the other, unlocking them in series. After you finish the chain you can do them all whenever you want.

1:29PM The two ships fire at eachother, and the two ships board eachother with rocket packs. You need to attack/defend.
1:29PM On the 2nd floor, you board your faction's airship. Alliance boards with Varian, Horde boards with Saurfang. You race the other faction up to the next floor.
1:28PM There are 4 floors to the dungeon, and it's still a spire. It's inside of the huge metal casing we see.
1:28PM It will use the waypoint system from Ulduar. Sindragosa and the Lich King are the two bosses they just named.

1:25PM Deathwing has literally drilled a hole from Blackrock Spire to Grim Batol to transport supplies and troops. This is the Blackrock Caverns. The Twilight Hammer is there, naturally.
1:24PM Blackrock Caverns is up. "Reinventing a fan favorite." People love UBRS, but they didn't want to use that as one they made a Heroic for. They are going to recreate the experience.
1:24PM They just showed a video preview. It's very much Titan architecture. Imagine Ulduar, except with pharaoh statues instead of constellations.
1:23PM The story is that there is some sort of super weapon in Uldum and/or the Halls of Origination. Everyone wants it. Horde, Alliance, Deathwing, all of them.

1:18PM Abyssal Maw is the first they're showing off. It's in the Sunken City of Vashj'ir, a 5-player dungeon. You will literally get pulled down into the elemental plane of water. There are rifts in the ocean floor due to the Cataclysm, which allows access to the plane. The Naga have taken a huge interest.

1:14PM Creature editing panel for Onyxia pulled up. It has all of her 3.2.2 details. Abilities, health pool, damage range, loot, model, etc.
1:13PM They're showing an actual shot of Wowedit right now. Mob placement and mob path is plotted out with dots and lines.
1:13PM A tool called "Wowedit" is what they use to actually place things and make them do what they do.
1:12PM "What makes an encounter cool?" and making sure variety is provided come after.
1:11PM A dev mentioned vehicles can ride other vehicles and that's when they decided, "We need to do a Voltron fight." Hence Mimiron.
1:11PM Brainstorming is the ground level for encounter designers. "We sit down at a table in a dimly lit room and just start throwing out ideas." Inspiration comes from anywhere.

1:09PM Then they go to the artists and work closely with them. Artists play a role in dungeon design as well. Example, Utgarde Keep's entryway came out of concept art. The flames out of the forge, etc.
1:07PM They plan the interactive pieces of the dungeon very early in development, because they need to spend a lot of extra time on those things. Example, shattering floor in Malygos, moving bridge before Vashj.
1:07PM They're showing off some very raw 3D maps. Completely untextured.
1:06PM After blocking it out in 2D, they do it in 3D. They repeatedly check the scale, and they plan on using the Ulduar-esque teleporters more to allow them to make larger areas.

Raids & Dungeons
* The concept of Ulduar teleports will be back in future instances including Icecrown Citadel. Developers do not want you to have to run for hours just to get back to a boss after a wipe.
Cross Server LFG
* This will let you PUG 5-man instances and search for groups through multiple servers.
* It will come with its own reward systems. If you're the leader of a PUG and complete the dungeon succesfully you will be rewarded.
* It should be out for patch 3.3.0.
* Icecrown Citadel will have 4 floors.
* It will be a 10 and 25 players raid with 12 bosses
* Waypoints / Teleporters are being reused here because the instance is really big.
* You will fight Sindragosa, the ultimate Frost Wyrm. You will also fight Arthas.
* The instance is built around the spire where the Ice Throne sits.
* At the 2nd floor, you will have to board an airship with your faction leader and race against the other faction to reach the 3rd floor. You will eventually board their ship with rocket packs and catapults to fight them.
* The 3rd floor seems to be the biggest one and will feature 3 wings
* The 4th floor is where you will fight Arthas
Icecrown Citadel - Dungeons
* The Icecrown Citadel will also feature a 5-man dungeon.
* It has 3 different wings and feature 8 bosses in total. You will have to unlock the 2nd and 3rd wings through an epic questline.
* You will fight alongside Horde and Alliance heroes.
* 4 Raids : Grim Batol, Skywall, The Firelands, Blackwing Descent
* Dungeons : Grim Batol, Uldum, Deepholme, Skywall, Abyssal Maw, Blackrock Caverns
* Old World Heroics: Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep
Abyssal Maw (LVL 78-82)
* Abyssal Maw is one of the two 5-player dungeons located in the Sunken City of Vashjir. It will be non-linear.
* It's a giant vortex in the center of the zone, getting near the vortex will pull you down to the elemental plane of water.
* The dungeon will be on the ocean's floor. You will be able to see the ocean through windows in the dungeon and will make an extensive use of the new water effects in Cataclysm.
Halls of Origination
* Halls of Origination will be a non-linear dungeon with elevators to access higher floors. It will feature 7 bosses.
* This is one of the first 5 players dungeon located in the lost deserts of Uldum
* This is the ultimate titan dungeon, it will feature a lot of titan's lore and you will meet Brann Bronzebeard once again here.
Lost City of Tol'vir
* Exterior 5-man dungeon
* Blackrock Caverns is an entirely new instance located inside Blackrock Mountains. It was a good occasion to reinvent a fan favorite.
* It is now an off-site base for Deathwing and it's now occupied by the Twilight's Hammer. You will find out why the Twilight's Hammer is here and what they want here.
* It will feature new art, loot, and creatures. The Beast still lurks ...
Blackwing Descent (Raid)
* Nefarian will return in this instance. This is an entirely new raid inspired by the original Blackwing lair with new loot, new art, new creatures.
The Firelands (Raid)
* The Firelands is the Elemental Plane of fire. You will fight Ragnaros again here and you will finally fight him at his full strength.
Onyxia 5th anniversary
* Onyxia is back with updated encounter mechanics. You will find new and updated loot here based on the original items with improved stats.
* Onyxia's 310% flying mount "Brood of Onyxia" is going to be a very very rare drop.
Cataclysm smells bitter-sweet to me at the moment.
More fun changes, much more adaptation for casuals. (Like it wasn't bad enough already.)
I think I heard Greg say that they are renewing the old races racials aswell like Better Living Through Chemistry, giving it a sub-buff too.
I wouldn't really say it is getting more casual. Some of the changes were actually part of the original WoW beta such as hunters using focus and race/class combos. Yeah he did mention that the old races will be getting a racial revamp. Hopefully more Diablo 3 information tomorrow that isn't about random monsters and paint pallets. If anyone who isn't a mod(since they can edit stuff in) noticed anything I might of accidentally left out, PM me and I will edit it into the proper section when I get a chance.
Cataclysm looks awesome so far, but I'm still worried about the supposed leak that Thrall will become Guardian, and leave Garrosh as Warchief, which will lead to him assassinating Cairne.
It would it be hillariously out of character for Thrall, one of the most wise and peaceseeking characters in the series to be stupid enough to undo everything he's worked for like that by leaving a warmongering moron in charge. Yeah, Thrall has been overly sentimental with Garrosh, but not to THAT extent. He knows, or SHOULD know that Garrosh is not fit to lead.
And that cosplay contest was rigged! The Meeting Stone should have won!
I got images of the starcraft/BN2 segment, however I couldn't keep going with all of them, and to be honest I didn't care much for anything other then SC2 anyhow.
But their segments were still interesting to watch.
Btw, the costume, dancing and voice acting was pretty good.
although the guy swearing all over the place and attempting to make jokes was really starting to annoy me.. and many speculate he was drinking before he even got on stage.. he even hinted he had a little much of something.
