yeah, gamepot is know for blocking outside IPs. One of the other things they are know for is those "type what is in this box" things in japanese, so unless you can type japanese on your computer, you're in trouble.

There is a free trial though, you are only allowed to get up to hunter ranks and the quests up to level two. But if I'm reading it right, cds/dvds only give stats, you can get the cd stones in game and it gives you random creatures.
