Tree of the Savior could be said to be spiritual successor to Ragnarok Online. What RO would be like if it were made today, with all the action MMORPG hard-ons that Korean MMORPGs seem to have nowadays.

Looks pretty good tbqh.

Most notably, I say these features are the most important things I can draw from the article.
  • The game is open world, with the company planning to add 200 unique bosses ranging from raid, field, and dungeon bosses.
  • The game will have the same monster diversity the original ragnarok online had in addition to the wide variety of bosses.
  • Tree of Savior will offer 80 character classes and each class can advance up to 10 times. These include hidden classes the players will need to find.
  • Tree of Savior will focus more on other objectives rather than questing.
  • PVP will have multiple rankings, including a damage ranking system.
  • Stats will include: Attack, Power, Critical Chance, Defense, Dodge, Magic Defense, Elemental Resists and Damage, and so much more.
  • Characters will have massive customization, as it seems they are trying to kill off guide style character building. Jobs, Skills, and Stats can be mixed together.
  • Emotes:

80 classes that can advance 10 times sounds too good to be true... maybe they mean 8 classes with 10 advancements? or perhaps they just don't plan on giving players the 80 classes immediately, and will release them gradually with new patches.

I'm sure people already lost track of this behemoth, but quite a few videos have come around recently. I'm sure you all might want to check them out.






There are several class demonstrations lying about. They seriously intend on making 80 different classes.

It might be noted it appears they will be doing an international closed beta test followed by deciding which regions will have their servers. Based on that information, it can assumed the game will be released nationally all about the same time thankfully!

The translation process is being done by native speaking Koreans and corrections will be prompted through help from the community. Notably, it seems as if Hebrew was the first language they tested: Let’s listen directly from our developer – The progress of international version | TOS Developer's Blog Site

Seems they answered a few notable questions this time around:
  • One the earliest cosmetic customizations they'll be working on is skin color.
  • The reason CBT hadn't occured this summer is change in schedule due earlier listed. The new dates will announced later on, it might be speculated it be later this year or early 2015
  • Item durability exists. Items don't get destroyed during battle, but they will need to be repaired.
  • This is old information: items have fixed ATK SPD. There won't be a attack speed stat.
  • There are several crafting focused classes, each having their own levels similarly to combat orientated classes.

If you guys like, I can start listing classes on this forum page. It might take while though, for the time being all classes are listed on the blog with video demonstrations: TOS Developer's Blog Site | TOS Developers' Blog Site

The game is now in alpha testing. A few people I know are playing it right now. From what it looks like, CBT will be coming around pretty soon. Like, really soon.
