Super Smash Bros. coming to 3DS, Wii U in 2014

During this morning's E3 Nintendo Direct, as promised, the Big N showed off the new Super Smash Bros. It's apparently just called Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. The company announced the game will launch in 2014.

New characters not seen in the series before were The Villager from Animal Crossing and the Japanese Nintendo Direct teased Mega Man.

Lmao I wonder what tricks the trainer has for smash bro's.
Can't wait, she looks fun.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Finally! I can't believe they're actually making it for handhelds this time too. Now I don't have to go buy a Wii U just for Super Smash Bros. ^-^

LOL what were they smoking when they even considered her for this game??
Looks fun though.

I actually think the Wii trainer woman was a pretty good idea /shot. It's another female character which is a-okay in my book.

They brought megaman in too.

The official site is up!

Official Site - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U

Wonder if that means we'll get small updates 5 days a week like they did with Brawl? :)

Phew, OK. Wii Fit trainer gal wasn’t Nintendo’s only special announcement. Nintendo just shared a few details on Mega Man, who will be joining Super Smash Bros. as a new playable fighter, too.

Mega Man will have his Leaf Shield and Flame Sword attacks in the game. He uses Rush as his double jump, and also has access to a Metal Blade and Crash Bombs. Mega Man can also do a slide attack.

When he gets KOed, he splits into atoms like the NES games.

Gameplay with Megaman :D (Have to ignore the idiot commentating!)

In today’s Nintendo Direct, we got a first look at a new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, along with an introduction to three newcomers in the Villager from Animal Crossing, Mega Man and the Wii Fit Trainer. Additionally, the game’s official website has been updated with a bunch of screenshots for the entire lineup of characters that have been revealed so far.

The 3DS version really doesn't look all that bad...but then when I look at the Wii U version it makes me want a Wii U just for it ;_;

I hope they have an option to turn off the shadow outlines...

Genji 06-12-2013 04:55 PM

I love how everyone's making the Villager into a raving lunatic!

BoredomKillz 06-12-2013 05:19 PM

Oh yesh. For once I can get my hands on one of the games (I have a 3ds). I was in shock that they added villager, megaman, and wii fit trainer. I hope that Ike and Marth appear.... (I typically use them)

The two new Super Smash Bros. games for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will not feature the tripping mechanic that was present in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Speaking with Kotaku, Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai confirmed: “To answer quite frankly, it will not return.”

Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS and Wii U are slated for release in 2014.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 01:14 PM.
