Default Sonic: Lost World

Quote:
Sega is developing two exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog games for Nintendo consoles, Nintendo announced this morning—a new Mario & Sonic game for Wii U and Sonic: Lost World for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

However, there’s a third exclusive Sonic game headed to Nintendo consoles, too, Sega shared with GamesIndustry.biz. This game has not been announced yet. Part of the deal of this exclusive partnership is Nintendo handling European publishing duties.

“Sega has chosen to exclusively partner with Nintendo to distribute or publish the next three Sonic the Hedgehog titles throughout Europe and Australia,” Jurgen Post, COO of Sega Europe, confirmed.

FUNNY STORY TIME

Sonic X-Treme almost got finished, and some years ago a developer discovered a build that he had burned on CD-R. Anyway, he sold it off to the top bidder to the tune of somewhere around $5000 -- so he could have this game all to himself, and if he was feeling generous he might share a screenshot or two with everyone else not wealthy enough to waste that much money on a prototype.

Then a few months later another CD-R copy of this exact same build turned up and the guy simply released it for free on the internet, effectively rendering that idiot's purchase as completely worthless.

Seen that video (I'm subscribed to him) and heard of that story. Sorry guys, it still never saw the light of day, regardless if there is an almost-finish build of it out there. It was still unreleased.

No, Strider for the Supergrafx, now that has never seen the light of day. For years, nobody would have thought Bio Force Ape was ever going to be found, but it was. However, there's this group of people who go and hunt down these old unreleased games and them release them to the community -- needless to say, Bio Force Ape has been finally found and release.

Here's their website: Lost Levels - A website about unreleased video games.

So yeah, they do get released -- it sometimes it just takes a lot of time.

It has. If you did a quick google search, there's a beta/demo/whatever you want to call it copy of it like Ethane said.

Sonic Lost World To Feature Multiplayer Modes On Wii U And 3DS | Siliconera

More screenshots can also be found in the above link.

Quote:
Nintendo and Sega has released the first details of Sonic Lost World for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Here’s the game’s story summary:

"Dr. Eggman has harnessed the power of six menacing creatures known as the Deadly Six, but when the Deadly Six rise up against their master, Sonic has to unite with his arch nemesis in order to take on the new enemies head-to-head. Using his dynamic new parkour moves and improved Colour Powers, Sonic must run, jump and race through a variety of ever changing terrains in order to defeat the Deadly Six."

Sonic Lost World will have both single-player as well as competitive multiplayer modes on both the Wii U and 3DS. Additionally, both platforms will have their own specific features in the game as well.

On the Wii U, Colour Powers can be controlled using the Wii U GamePad, by touching, tilting and aiming. The Wii U version of the game will also support off-TV play and a 2-player “support mode”.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo 3DS version of the game will be the first Sonic game to feature “fully realized” 3D stages, including Special Stages and Colour Powers unique to them.

Sonic Lost World will be available later this year.

Sega has shared a few new details on Sonic Lost World via a webpage for the game discovered by the Nintendo Everything website.

As previously reported, Sonic Lost World will feature 3D stages both on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and both versions of the game will have their unique features. On the Wii U, you’ll be able to control Sonic’s new Colour Powers using the Wii U GamePad, but you’ll also have access to “gadgets”.

During the game, a second player will be able to use a separate controller to pilot radio-controlled flying gadgets that can be used to destroy obstacles and help Sonic. Meanwhile, on the Nintendo 3DS version, you’ll be able to create and customize radio-controlled gadgets to help Sonic. Gadgets can be shared between the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game.

As far as multiplayer goes, Sega say that both versions of the game will allow you to race against your friends. On the Wii U, you’ll be able to do this with one player playing on the Wii U GamePad, while another plays on the TV. On the Nintendo 3DS, you’ll be able to race against friends both via local and online game modes.

The Wii U version will also have Miiverse integration. Sega say you’ll be able to share and “charge up” items by sharing them with other players on Miiverse. Meanwhile, the 3DS version will have exclusive Special Stages that you’ll play using the tilt-controls of the 3DS. During these stages you’ll be collecting Chaos Emeralds.

Sega also mention that Sonic will have new and old moves during the game. The wall run and ability to skydive between islands are part of his new abilities, but older ones such as the spin dash will be making a return as well.

Sonic Lost World is slated for release on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this year.

Sega has shared a meaty amount of gameplay footage from Sonic Lost World through IGN.com, giving a look at both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game. Like Sonic Generations, Lost World will have both 3D and 2D levels.

Meanwhile, footage from the Nintendo 3DS version is split up into two videos. You can watch a 3D level Windy Hill Zone 1 here and a 2D level Desert Ruins Zone 2 here.

As reported yesterday, the 3DS version of Sonic Lost World will have online multiplayer races. The game will also allow you to share “gadgets” between the Wii U and 3DS versions.
