Though there are no scans yet, a reliable source has revealed new Tales costumes for the Symphonia cast in Tales of Symphonia, along with new features added for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
Ludger Kresnik costume (Tales of Xillia 2) for Kratos
Having save files of Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2 will get you the costumes early in the game. If you don't have save data, you can get them on your second playthrough.
We also get to see the new Mystic Arte cut-ins for Lloyd, Genis and Presea.
As for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, the new additional features include Head Change, which lets you equip accessories and such to Emil and Marta's heads, and the Gallery Mode, which lets you view various artwork and concept art for the game. Pictured above are a crown and a "Lloyd Wanted Poster" head change for Emil and a Noishe head and witch's hat for Marta. And apparently, the magazine also revealed a "Mecha Emil" for Emil and an HMD for Marta.
Some of you may remember that the head accessories and gallery mode features aren't exactly new. They were available as content exclusive to the European/PAL versions of the original release of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for the Nintendo Wii. For reference, some of the head changes available in the PAL version include the crowns (pictured above), a Tenebrae head, a pharaoh's head and a fish head for Emil. As of the moment, I'm unsure of just how much of the original PAL content will be carried over and how much of it will actually be "new."
We'll update this post once scans are available. If you're still interested in the scans, we've added them here in our gallery. It has a few things not in the Famitsu screenshots, like some of the cut-ins:
Tales of Symphonia: Unisonant Pack, known as Tales of Symphonia Chronicles in the west, will be released in Japan this October 10, 2013 and in the US and Europe early 2014.
Famitsu posted high resolution renders for Regal & Raine's cameo costumes--Malik and Pascal from Tales of Graces respectively. They've also posted high resolution screenshots of Regal & Raine's mystic arte cut-ins. Check them out by clicking any of these thumbnails:
Also, Famitsu revealed more artwork for the Famitsu DX pre-order of Unisonant Pack. Designed by Ufotable, it features Lloyd, Colette, Emil, Marta, Genis & Presea in Flanoir. Check out the sample here:
Abyss never was on the PS3 O_o (unless you mean digital release like the other older games they put out sometimes) They did re-release it on the 3DS (with a lot faster loading/saving time!)
Vesperia I doubt we'll ever see in America. I actually imported the Japanese version last year just to play it since it had been so long since they released it (it was the "Greatest Hits" re-release version). Even though I can't understand anything they're saying but a few words here and there it's a much better version than the 360.
I kinda knew what to do since I actually own the 360 version of Vesperia and have played through that a couple of times, but I still used a guide to help me with the PS3 exclusive stuff~
I just miss the English voice acting ;_; (Especially Raven! He was perfect...)
First off, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is now released in Japan! I'm sure we all can't wait for the localization, but we've still got months before that.
In the meantime, some more Symphonia Chronicles Japan news. Starting today, October 10, 2013, the PlayStation Vita version of the game Ragnarok Odyssey Ace which was released in Japan last August 29, will be getting Tales of Symphonia Chronicles collaboration DLC set.
The set includes Lloyd Irving and Colette Brunel costumes and cards. The Tales of Symphonia Set is now currently available at the Japanese PlayStation Store free of charge.
Namco Bandai revealed at New York Comic Con today that a collector's edition for Tales of Symphonia Chronicles will be headed to North America. The company only plans to release 1,500 copies of the edition, and are still determining the content and price point.
The Tales panel over at New York Comic Con 2013 had a lot of awesome news for Tales fans in the West. One of them being... Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is getting a Collector's Edition!
The said Tales of Symphonia Collector's Edition is actually the Lalabit Market Edition that the Japanese version has. However, it says in the image that the picture they provided is actually the Japanese version, and that some items may change without prior notice. Hrm. Anyway, they also announced that they'll only have 1,500 copies of the Collector's Edition for the US. Better get those pre-orders ready! However, some who were at the event said they said 15,000 copies. We're still waiting on a confirmation from Namco Bandai.
No news yet on when pre-orders will be available, but they just said to keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter. I'm also still not sure if Europe's also confirmed on this, but seeing as Baba-san will be at many events in Europe in the coming days, they'll probably also announce this for that region.
They also announced that the recent Tales of Series costumes we've been hearing about for the Japanese version will also be in the US version! So far, they've announced the Guy Cecil costume for Lloyd and the Luke fon Fabre costume for Genis (both from Tales of the Abyss). Stay tuned for the announcement of the other costumes!
And not only that, it seems that even the Western releases will be getting the Japanese opening themes (or at least the tracks for it are included?). These are all the remixed versions of the original Japanese openings.
In other news, they also announced that Tales of Xillia has sold over 1 million copies worldwide! Thanks to everyone for making it this far!
UPDATE: An off-screen video of the trailer has been added, thanks to TalesOfSaku!
In addition, a new English trailer of Tales of Xillia 2 was also shown at the event. Hopefully we'll also get to see it around soon. Now added! Get to hear the English voices for the first time!
Many thanks to TalesOfSaku who was at the event for the news and the pictures and the trailer!
Namco Bandai Europe has just confirmed that they will indeed be getting the Tales of Symphonia Collector's Edition, as well as the release date of the game for their region, which is on February 28, 2014.
UPDATE: Namco Bandai America has also confirmed through their Twitter that the release date for their region is on February 25, 2014!
The contents of the European Collector's Edition is pretty much the same as the US one:
The Tales of Symphonia Chronicles PS3 Game
The Five Chibi Kyun Chara figures of Lloyd, Colette, Emil, Marta and Tenebrae
A multi-disc soundtrack
A novel (in English) depiciting the events between the two games
A box with illustrations by ufotable
In addition, the press release also mentions that there will be only 10,000 copies of the Collector's Edition for both Europe and Australasia.
More information is on the Tales of Game website. It seems pre-orders will also be opening soon there, but you can also expect pre-orders at other European shops.
No news yet on the American release date, but the date shouldn't be that far off from the European one.
Also take note that there will be a lot of Tales of events at MCM Expo in London this October 25th to 27th! Baba-san will also be there! You can check out the full list of events here.
