Disney has laid off the staff of LucasArts and cancelled all current projects.
Staff were involved of the shutdown this morning, according to a reliable Kotaku source. Some 150 people were laid off, and both of the studio's current projects--Star Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313--were cancelled.
This comes after weeks and months of rumors involving the studio, which was acquired by Disney last fall.
In the wake of Lucasarts' closure today, Raven - the developers of the thoroughly excellent Jedi Outcast - have decided to release the source code for the game. Oh, and the code for its sequel, Jedi Academy, as well.

The move should please modders, who have been hounding the studio - and who in turn hounded Lucasarts, with no luck - to release the code for years.
"Raven is sad to hear about the closing of LucasArts today, we respected them and enjoyed working with them over the years,” said the studio in a statement sent to Kotaku Australia. “We wish the best for all the talented people who were let go and hope they find good work in studios in the industry.
“We loved and appreciated the experience of getting to make Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy for LucasArts. As a gift to the persistently loyal fanbase for our Jedi games and in memory of LucasArts, we are releasing the source code for both games for people to enjoy and play with."
You can grab the code below. Be warned: it comes sans documentation or support.
