Is Guild Wars 1 Still Alive?

My roommates and I were thinking about picking up a game we can all play (they're all using basic minimum laptops for school and stuff, and they don't want to get into WoW with me -- losers), and LoL doesn't really interest them. Thought of maybe picking up GW1 since it was pretty cheap and we can all run it.

Just wondering if there's still any activity there. Like, is it even worth it to buy and play anymore? Mainly wondering about PvP since we're thinking about just playing PvP characters so it's more of a "hop in and play whenever we need a break together" kind of thing.

Not completely related but whenever my roommates and i are bored we play warcraft III/dota/spiral defense/tower defense. It's fun and it takes up our time.

I brought up WC3, too, but they're on a Warcraft-hate trend to spite me and my WoW.
They're not big fans of LoL/DotA-gameplay, either. Nor tower defense.

You could try to get them into playing SDGO since you can survive solely with pvp in it.

I'm not big a fan of that game, myself, honestly. Lol.

Gee, well if they don't like WC3 custom maps...

Can try Worms Armageddon. Shenanigans guaranteed in every game.

The PvP really isn't very active, aside from a few guilds doing GvG.

Random Arena and Jade Quarry have some activity though.
