Mooncakes

well, I generally like snowskin ones, especially the pandan and white lotus flavored ones, but I'm still alright with the normal brown skin ones, what about you?

Javier 09-22-2010 07:08 AM

I like snowskin mooncakes too. But my favourite has to be the red bean mooncake. :py53:

TheBlackCatXIII 09-22-2010 07:10 AM

yea, mooncakes are great! but be careful since the contents are not healthy at all =]
don't eat too much mooncakes ^_^ especially if you have any known health problems that requires a controlled diet.

Mitchi 09-22-2010 07:10 AM

I like the ones with winter melon in them /o/

Bolter 09-22-2010 07:22 AM

uh oh yes, I forgot about the red bean snow skin mooncakes, I liked those too.

Aimee 09-22-2010 08:00 AM

I agree.

Though wiki's description of a ''salted duck eggyolk'' filling sounds nasty.

Javier 09-22-2010 08:24 AM

It is. Only certain mooncakes have egg-yolks in them though. They're generally the most traditional ones.

crazyhealer 09-22-2010 12:18 PM

Heh, these are awesome! Though, I don't really think of them as mooncakes, more like mooncake shaped love dessert.

coolbluex 09-25-2010 01:21 AM

i like snowskin ones best but i've only eaten it once ;-;

parents are usually the ones who buy the mooncakes and they always get single or double yoke as well as chinese ham with assorted nuts cause that's their fav ._.;

TheBlackCatXIII 09-26-2010 04:44 PM

There are so many variations of mooncakes now. Q_Q... someone should open a mooncake shop that sells most, if not, all their variations, you will make a fortune.

Henreh 09-26-2010 09:26 PM

Gotta go with the red bean <3

Zuro 10-03-2010 11:05 PM

For some reason I was thinking Moon Pie when I saw Moon Cake. I was like... "There's a snowskin moon pie???"

Anyhow, I don't like Moon cakes :x

DarkAmbience 10-04-2010 02:30 PM

I've only ever eaten the ones with egg yolk in them and the ones without the egg yolk, lol.
I thought those were the only kinds that existed. o.o;;

Sanichi 10-04-2010 04:11 PM

Never had moon cake before :<

kag 10-05-2010 01:47 AM

I never really liked mooncakes, usually they are too sweet.
And I'm lazy to make tea to go with the mooncakes.

Most mooncakes that people like are the non traditional ones, but I'll take the haagen daz mooncakes any day. But good mooncakes can be really good, but to me it isn't really worth the money. I'd rather have a taiyaki.

Snowskin has never appealed me, the skin almost has no taste.
Mooncake Filling > Mooncake Skin

Best part of mooncake festivals, is burning lanterns.
