Ranger advancement?

sorry to bother you all, but im alittle confused on how to change jobs into ranger... well not necessarily me, my brother want to make a ranger, but the ranger npc wants 2 Animal *****...he doesn't know what the ***** is, cuz he doesn't tell you... so if you guys aren't busy, can you help me and my bro? ^.^

one more question, kinda random...: How do i get skill pints for skills? O.O i have job lvl 9 and only 4 skill points...i never used any of them yet... so why is it soo little...? T~T (am i doing something wrong?)

You mean 4 Red bars? Everytime you get 3 skill points you get 1 Big red bar

1 Big red bar = to learn a new skill,
1 small bar = to lvl up a skill
