Item Synthesis

Using Item Synthesis, you can take the appearance of one item and fuse it with the stats of another. This is purely for cosmetic reasons, and as such makes it extremely important if you want to be strong AND fabulous.


How to Unlock:
First, go to Fareast city, and enter this building near the center of the map.


Talk to either of the shady folks inside. When a text box comes up, answer, "Friend of Enigma Group"

You will get an Enigma Group Pass if you enter it correctly. (You have to repeat this every time you want to enter the Fortress.)

Now head to the field north of Fareast City, and talk to the NPCs at the top of the map to let you into the Enigma Group Fortress. (They will take your pass.)


Go into the building directly in front of you and talk to Leader Buru.

Walk through the door behind him, and select, "Go to Holy Mother's Island."

Head into the painfully obvious house and talk to Yoko to deliver the medicine Buru gave you.

Go back to Buru with the mask Yoko gave you. He will give you more medicine to give to Yoko, and doing so will finish the quest.



How to Use:
Make sure you have both pieces of equipment you want to fuse in your inventory (un-equipped). Talk to Yoko to open the synthesis window.


First select the item whose image you want to use under the "Appearance" column.

Then select the item whose stats you want to use under the "Ability" column.

The process costs 20,000G and has an 80% success rate. (If it fails for you please post what happens.) Now just pay up and hopefully enjoy your fused item! o/




Limitations:
-When fusing weapons, they both must be the same equipment type.

-You cannot fuse armor that have completely unrelated equipment slots.

-When fusing armor, they don't have to be the exact same equipment type in order to fuse them. It seems as though the appearance item must take the same equipment slots (or less) than the ability item. (e.g. the Tiger Mask and Corsage above)

-The race, faction, and gender requirements of the two items must match.

-Both items must be usable by the same job class.

-The appearance item must not be a higher level than the ability item.

I was wondering with weapons... can you fuse like a Parasol, a hammer, for appearance to a short short?

oh that would be great! Then i could get some of those etc weapons like the flower or the magnifying glass and synth them with a real weapon

question are these synthed items tradable? And do they keep their appearance and stats?

Before you can do item synthesis, you needa return the mask back to Leader Buru, the portal is that bush on the other end of Holy Mother's Island. lol Then go back and you can do eet.

Also, there's this item called "Gorgeous Thread" that boosts the success rate for Item Synthesis. -.(' ~ ').- No clue where2get.

EDIT: Also, it only works for certain ekips. ;_; Can't do it for Chest accessories.

The other day I tried all the combinations of three upper armors: steward top, winter coat, and the lv35 warrior armor. The only combination that would work is the image of the winter coat on the warrior armor. Even trying that backwards wasn't possible.

It makes no sense to me. ;_;

So this means no 24/7 meido and the like? Maybe there's a lvl difference cap similiar to poss? if so gheyy.

According to the Japanese ECO wiki if the process fails you'll lose both items, it appears that item looks to item stats goes one way, that is, lower level item looks are transferred to higher level items only, and that the cost to fuse an item is 1000 gold x the level of the item.

That's why yours cost 20k. It was a level 20 item.

Do you know a concrete reason why I couldn't butlerize the warrior armor though?

By same equipment type on weapons. Does that mean only 2 hand hammers can be fused with another 2hand hammer image ;_;? I wanted to fuse My water pipe(Hammer Class) with a 2hand axe lol D:

I haven't tried it extensively, but I couldn't fuse a 2h spear with a rapier.

If I had to guess I'd say it's because the butler costume and warrior armor's jobs don't match. I'm not entirely sure though.

I just know that things like allowable job, equipment type, allowable races, and gender have to match in order to fuse. Isn't a butler top wearable by all jobs? It might conflict with warrior armor only being available to fighter types.

Yes. So 1 handed hammer to 1 handed hammer is possible, but 1 handed hammer to 2 handed hammer isn't. It has to be something that your job can use.

I just changed the appearance of one of my chest accessories. Anyways, isn't Winter Coat for more than just the Fighter Class? If so, Butler to Armor should work. Anyways, you've just explained everything I was planning to post. Wasted 60K turning a Stun blade's image into a Katana.

It might be due to gender or race limitations.

Since butler armor is for males only, and warrior armor was unisex, it would be a problem if a female wore the fused armor. Same with the races.
