~[Eir Rebirth Skills Guide]~

[Guide still in progress]

As some of you may have known, each class in Lunia receives 3 new skills upon "Rebirthing" their character. This guide was created to explain and compare Eir's 3 Rebirth Skills.

Due to the lack of English translation in regards to the names of the Rebirth skills, I'll simply refer to the skills as "Rebirth [Counterpart skill]."

-Moon Pieces & Rebirth Moon Pieces
-Beads of Healing & Rebirth Beads of Healing
-Price of Sacrifice & Rebirth Price of Sacrifice

Rebirth Moon Pieces

5 Moon Piece crescents appear around Eir and rotate in a counter-clockwise direction around Eir.

The Moon Pieces rotate for about 5 seconds before disappearing one by one.

If you compare the damage side by side, the Rebirth Moon Pieces seems pretty lackluster. However, the Rebirth version of Moon Pieces lasts for a pretty long time and you are able to get MANY more hits in. I can easily get at least 25 hits in with Rebirth Pieces, and it is possible to go up to exactly 35 hits. (Thanks for correction Ralin.)

Rebirth Beads of Healing

Pretty much the same as Eir's regular Beads of Healing, except instead of 2 beads, there are now 8. Slightly longer cast time, although the difference is more or less negligible.

Rebirth Price of Sacrifice

[I did not provide a picture because the animation is exactly the same as Price of Sacrifice and Self-Heal.]

Rebirth PoS is very interesting. It's essentially a combination of the regular PoS with a Self-Heal attached at the end. Indeed, Eir loses HP and Gains MP with regular Price of Sacrifice.

So the order of PoS is:
Lose HP->Gain MP

However with "Rebirth PoS", she loses HP, gains MP, then finishes off with a Self-Heal that will heal her for MORE HP than she lost. With Rebirth PoS, there is no net loss of HP.
(In case you were wondering, the Self-Heal part of Rebirth PoS is dash-cancellable.)

Calculations*

Up until level 7, Rebirth Price of Sacrifice is "better" in terms of amount of MP you gain.
At level 8, regular PoS will give you a higher net gain of MP than a maxed Rebirth PoS. But take into consideration that Rebirth PoS will heal you for more HP than it takes off (provided you don't get cancelled during the healing part.)

*In case you were wondering what the (+XXX) means, it is the amount the Self-Heal part of "Rebirth Price of Sacrifice" heals.

The absolute maximum number of hits you can get with rebirth pieces on a single target is precisely 35 hits.

Oh, quite interesting. Thanks for this!

I was dissappointed that Eir got a rebirth PoS instead of something else, but now when I reflect on it, that means she has TWO MP restorative moves now, right?

Meaning PoS, sometime later and need more MP, but PoS is cooling still, Rebirth PoS? This would put less of a strain on MP.

Oh nice. So the duration of Rebirth PoS/Self Heal is 5.6 sec? Is it possible to cancel that skill's animation earlier?

Cookies 01-29-2009 06:14 PM

It's dash-cancelable after the PoS, during the Self Heal after it.

crazyhealer 01-29-2009 06:16 PM

I still prefer the old PoS. It gives more flexibility for users.

1) after pos, you don't need to stand down there for another few seconds to wait for the self heal part to activate, which
2) limits the movement of the user.
3) and it takes more sp to max. Even after maxing it, the original PoS is still better.

This are my current opinions. Makybe it will change once i used it.

Cookies 01-29-2009 06:19 PM

Ok let me rephrase that .-.

It's just like the original PoS, but with a free Self Heal after it. You can start running after the PoS part is done.

^

If you are run after the rebirth pos, then what's the point of the self heal after that. This is the main reason i'm not gonna consider adding this skill to my build.

Consider the levels at which you raise PoS: max PoS is at 72, and max rPoS is at 71. From level 7 -> 8 on PoS is a 10 level difference, and from 9 -> 10 -> 11 some few levels apart.
I would probably pick rPoS because I hate having to heal 830 MP for 10 levels, when I can heal around 1.1-1.2k MP for the same CD. Ya, sure you lose more HP up until you max PoS but I don't think that's much of a difference, and there's only an 18 MP difference from max PoS to rPoS.

About pieces: It sucks, I totally hate it. Meh..good for stun lock; I would just get it to level 1 then. Probably only useful in PvP, but even then people can choose whether or not they want to allow rebirth.
About rbeads: Lurveeeeeeeeeee ittt, Eirs should totally replace regular Beads with rBeads.

Unless you plan to get more than 7 PoS, Rebirth PoS is better in every sense.

You can actually do AAAAA which will launch the enemy into the Rebirth Pieces "wheel" and they'll keep bouncing. You can recharge MP this way.

I think I'll put 1 point into rPieces just for this :D

But yeah, it's probably more of a PVP skill.

crazyhealer 01-29-2009 06:59 PM

Use of rPieces in stage... The only use i have thought of is to push the mob away while you're doing your own business(be it pos, heal or whatever which you don't wish to get interrupt by mob)

Cookies 01-29-2009 07:01 PM

Eh, greeber, you should probably put in the duration for the RB Moon Pieces too, since the duration increases each level.

Wait wait wait...ew, they increased the cd of regular beads to 15? q_q

windcurse 01-30-2009 08:25 PM

Is moon pieces escapable on the ground? It could be pretty good as a combo starter if it is, or something to use to stall for cool downs when I end up spamming aaaa at the wall.

Well when you get up, you have a slight invincible frame....O_o

Correct me if i'm wrong. I once read (somewhere) that rebirth skills are not useable in pvp. The pvp vids that we saw with rebirth skills are just in ktest. But the rebirth skills will not function in actual pvp mode.
I could be wrong. =.=

flsg 02-09-2009 05:34 PM

I think you have the option to disable it
