Just offering my perspective on Healing in PvE.
Level 2-7: Not so great.
Level 1: Awesome.
Since we can't choose what skill level to use, what we learn is what we're stuck with.
What this means is that a PvE healer will want a high level of Light of Healing. It's one of if not the best heals we have—fast, relatively safe, and high amount healed. You really don't want to leave this low leveled. In exchange however, you're looking at a high MP cost.
Never falling below the MP cost of a Light of Healing cast is good practice, but what happens if the cast gets canceled, or you get hit again right after?
At 0 HP you can't use any potions or regenerate. If you also by some unfortunate turn of events happen to have less MP than needed for one Light of Healing, Sunlight of Healing, or even a Bead of Healing cast, you'll be out of options and must die before you can heal your party again. This is assuming your the only Eir in the party of course.
This would be where your level 1 Healing comes in. 37 MP. That's next to nothing. I have trouble falling below 37 mp even if I try. :P
At level 1 it doesn't heal much, but it doesn't need to. As long as it gets you above 0 HP so you can potion or regenerate, it's done its job.
