I haven't seen final fight, but it's definitely not like Latale (though I suppose you can kinda play it in the same way..).

I meant latale as in looks, like sprites and all that looks like similar quality

I somehow see the sprite quality, coloring and animation kinda alike to latale's also final fight was pretty much a beat em up 2D thing much like this :3
but dont take me seriously on the latale remark, its simply how i see the sprites and such.

also do you level up on this game or whats the goal on this?

Uhh. the graphics for it are a lot more arcade-like compared to Latale. IMO, DF is a lot more flashier than Latale.

Hmm. like before you get the cooler skills, i could almost swear that DF looks a lot older than it is. Latale almost seems a step up in graphics at that point (before cool things).

And I looked up a short video on Final Fight. While it is a bit closer to this, you could say it builds off of this, gives it a facelift, and adds a lot more to it with the additions of skills and the combos that branch from those skills.

Yes you level up. What's the goal in any online game? Exactly.
There is a rough story line/progression of stages that you can go to, however. I believe those are based on level so going back to older stages won't benefit you as much (ie. i don't think they buff monsters to match your level).

Adding to what Sanichi said... You'll needa get a proxy to play it.

@Sanichi: Sadly, I didn't get to try that on the jp version since playing with anyone else makes you lag. Playing alone is fine, though. :/

I only tried out pvp once in the jp version... but it didn't end too well cuz of lag, obviously. But I remember there was a training mode where you can have a cpu fight against you.
