Constant lag problem? Please help?
After looking at innumerable amounts of Dragon Saga gameplay videos, I'm hooked. I really, REALLY want to play this game.

However, whenever I play I get this awful, terrible lag that makes it basically impossible to play. I've never had a lag issue like this with 3D MMO's before...even flashy ones. I also use Game Booster. Could it be my computer itself, or an internet connection issue?

Processor: AMD Anthlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz

My graphics card:

NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE

I've also done a tracert report. If you can, see if there's any issues there.

Hm your computer is better than mines and i don't lag at all. but with game booster do you have it set to cut off everything when you start a game? BTW are you in the US or what cause that could be it

Edit: i just did the tracert and mines show 64ms so must be your internet or where you trying to connect from

MasterExploder 02-25-2012 07:13 AM

I'm in the East Coast of USA. Does that really cause that much of a problem?

If it IS my Internet, what can I do to improve my connection to the game?
(I really don't feel like going out and buying a new set-up and everything)

I have a pretty well-working vonage router. Again, I'm not very tech-savvy. xD

I apologize for double posting, but I just wanted to bump it to see if there is anyone out there who knows the solution to my problem. I'm really anticipating playing Dragon Saga smoothly. :c

That delay you have is caused by the distance between you and the server, doesn't the US have a Dragonica server? Dragon Saga = Dragonica.

Also what server were you trying to play on cause you shouldn't have any delay if you're playing on the US server.

Improving your internet speed would help also, either change your connection or use an internet booster (ashampoo has a decent one).

MasterExploder 02-26-2012 11:16 AM

I'm pretty sure Dragon Saga is for the US: Dragon Saga
Plus, there's only one server with 5-6 channels. They should fix that.

Like I said before, I'm not up for changing my internet completely. Do internet boosters really work that well? How can I make it so that my internet mainly focuses on Dragon Saga temporarily?

Krem 02-26-2012 12:06 PM

Your lag might be caused by a bad video card too. That server is the US server.

Nothing else i can say to help.

MasterExploder 02-26-2012 12:40 PM

Sigh. Alright, I'll look around some more to see what's best for me. Just in case, do you know of any other mmorpgs similar to Dragonica? The whole beat-em-up RPG concept is really cool, plus I like games that are less serious with more cartoony characters.

MasterExploder 02-26-2012 02:45 PM

What if I were to port forward it? Would that help?

Hiya, I play Dragon Saga and I'm the east coast.

I only lag when my family members start streaming or torrenting stuff, so it might be your comp. Tbh, I don't think you need gamebooster for a game like Dragon Saga, so you can try cleaning your comp with something like CCleaner, defragment, and virus scan and then see if it gets better. Graphics card is important too. Also try to turn all the graphics option to lowest since the game starts off with everything on max.

You could try adding Dragon Saga as an exception to your firewall as well. Other than those tips, I don't know. xD

If you're looking for other action-based games, you can look into Elsword or Grand Chase, though they are 2D, as opposed to 2.5D. Rusty Hearts and Dungeon Fighter Online look alright too but I haven't played those much.
And if you don't mind using the mouse to attack, you can try Dragon Nest and Vindictus.

I'm sure other people will have more suggestions, as these are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Oh sorry for the late responses, but if what Raine said don't help I'll try to find another way

MasterExploder 02-27-2012 05:22 PM

Ive already done all of that except defragmenting. I'll try that and see what happens, but I don't think it'll make much of a difference..

MasterExploder 03-08-2012 06:55 AM

I defragmented my C drive and it didn't really make a difference. Could it be my graphics card? What's the issue behind my FPS lag?

Krem 03-08-2012 10:32 PM

What kind of a video card do you have, also how many Ghz and RAM does your pc have?
