It's almost time for OBT, and those of you who have gotten a nice arsenal of new 3rd Class skills will be facing off against the first Area Boss of Faeras, Mutisha.
Faeras, the 2nd continent, is a darker and more sinister place than El Grego. However, it is often also hauntingly beautiful. The dark corruption of Elga has spread more extensively in the deep, wooded lands of Faeras than in the sunny plains of El Grego.
One of the strongest opponents you will meet is Mutisha, an undead sorceror in the Kundara dungeon, who commands a powerful earth golem called Aram.
Your party will first have to navigate an extensive obstacle course, fighting off scores of unfriendly monsters and breaking down numerous gates previously set up to ward off unwary adventurers.
If you make it to his hidden enclave, you will have to face off Mutisha, Aram, and a host of re-spawning mini golems.
Mutisha will be on the offensive from the get-go. Beware the lich, as he has the ability to teleport and cast boulders that switch between outward sweeps (below), or concentrated attacks on individual party members. His specialty is Area of Effect attacks.
As you progress through the fight, Mutisha will periodically activate Aram, who will deal massive damage by way of arm slams (below), followed by a quick and wicked sweep across the entire platform. Knowing how to avoid it is key, although it is hard to completely dodge all his arm sweeps due to the speed. Getting caught by both Aram and Mutisha's attacks can mean instant death.
Aram is also able to cast an AoE earth-spike attack, with green insignias (below) that follow every member of the party relentlessly. There is nowhere to run or dodge.
If you are skilled or lucky, you may be able to jump up JUST as the spikes thrust up, but most of the time, you'll need to heal through or else bring plenty of pots.
Aram also sends stalactites raining down on adventurers in a huge AoE attack, forcing you to break your attack on Mutisha in order to avoid sudden death.
Going with ranged DPS might be a good bet. Jesters and Assassins will be better at evading damage and biding their time, but Mutisha's frequent teleporting can be a bit of a pain for melee attacks. Still, by the time you reach the 3rd Job, most classes have formidable AoE skills, so it's really up to you to come up with your own strategies for surviving the fight.
Your reward? More weapons to help you on your way to 60! (Special ingredients from the dungeon can also be used to craft Aram's Weapon pieces, similar to the Lavalon Weapons.)
