Default Beacons

I keep experimenting with them, especially the Ricochet Beacon in the Earth skill tree, but I find them nothing but useless; not even as effective decoys.

You can't rotate them, they have linear attack, mobs run around them (I guess it buys you a little time), you have to attack them to activate them, they cost 1 WP...

With that 1 WP, I'd rather be casting Destructive Arrow...

So... what's the gist on these Beacons? I saw a Cra using a high level beacon skill once, but I have no idea why he would choose that as a primary skill.

I do have to agree that the ricochet beacon is rather useless to a certain extent, though at times it's rendered useful when there's monsters within the one square range of the targetted monster (at least it deals some crappy damages =w=)

Icy beacons used to be okay until they decided to nerf the damages. I'd think the only surviving point for this beacon is of the "frozen" status, that is.

Fiery beacon is probably fine when soloing monsters with a decoy that can at least survive 2 hits , just probably use the remaining wp on explosion arrow and once you start running out of wp, you can either try 2x fiery arrow, or burning arrow.
