Nearly 5 months since CB1 ended

And what do we have after all this time? Nothing still.

Here are some recent quotes from Hapa, the community manager, if you haven't bothered to check the forum.

As I said (twice) before in another thread, the higher-ups at GamesCampus are currently involved in discussions with the developers regarding our contract and the future of the game.

No, we have not gotten the schedule. If we ever do get the schedule, we will post it when we get it.

(Regarding the schedule that the japanese developers are supposed to send them for when they'll have the CB2 and OB builds ready).

We (GamesCampus) are currently in the middle of discussions with the developers about the future of Concerto Gate. When/if the next version is released, it will be the second Closed Beta version, not the full version of the game. At the moment there is no version of the game that we host available to play so just keep checking back here every once in a while for any updates we may get.

At this point in time we cannot reveal any specifics about what is being discussed, but I will say that it is not that "the developers want to change providers or something" or "do not TRUST GamesCampus with the future of the game"; it is more along the lines of what Ninja_Poe_Bear said.

Because from what I am hearing, Square Enix is not covering their end of the deal when it comes to the licensing contract. And GameCampus has the option of just saying we need to see results while we are licensing this, or just ultimately opt out due to the fact Square Enix is not doing their share of the deal.

And what sucks is this is one of the two reasons why I currently dislike Square Enix. Because if you listen to what they say, they focus more on sales than just going multi-platform. (Case in point... Dragon Quest X.) -_-;; And in this case, I worry that they are focusing more on their actual products than the ones licensed from them. -_-;;;

Noes!!!
D= :-;

Kris 12-14-2008 12:24 PM

So apparently IGN has a set release date for the game.

Quote:

Concerto Gate
Publisher: OnNet
Platform: PC
Release Date: March 31, 2009
Release Region: United States
IGN: Concerto Gate

So what happens to the Seer Event now? Most people will use this date. :P
Well, technically, if the date is accurate, it's the commercial release they are talking about. Closed Beta 2 and Open Beta should come out sooner.

HolyAbyssal 12-14-2008 12:25 PM

March 31st! GD that's a pretty long time for full release(it's that isn't it?)

Kris, the Seer Event is for CB2

Yeah, I edited my post. You replied way too fast. :3
If GamesCampus confirms this, I might be motivated enough to work on the Wiki.

Solemn 12-14-2008 01:12 PM

Whaaa? March 31...? Hmmm... Ah, this might render the event obsolete. *sweats a bit*

You should become a CM for concerto gate if you're so enthusiastic about it :py12:

Also, i go though the whole site every 30 minutes lol so yes, i reply fast

Don't sweat it Solemn ;_;

Kris 12-14-2008 01:33 PM

Yeah, I might apply. But I'm waiting for an official confirmation first, not sure if IGN's date was added in recently or if it's been there for a while (as in, prior to the 5 months with no news).

Edit: Hmm, well, I wouldn't get my hopes up. IGN also states "Q1 2009", which is March 31 at the latest. This ETA was most likely given by GamesCampus a while ago.

Miyuki 12-14-2008 07:01 PM

Just fyi, Concerto Gate II launched [like quite sometime ago] @ chinese version.

while we're stuck....on CB phase ._.

HolyAbyssal 12-15-2008 04:24 AM

Noessssss

/emo in a corner

Kris 12-16-2008 02:45 AM

The thread regarding IGN's release date posted on GamesCampus forums has been deleted, so yeah... it's no good.
You can tell Hapa is losing patience as much as we are. Her early replies were mostly nice, but lately she's been trigger happy with the lock/delete button and is posting rather cold replies...

HolyAbyssal 12-16-2008 04:04 AM

So it means either the development(or whatever) team at GamesCampus, which i think may have to do the translations, or it's just Square Enix's fault on late information ;_;

Kaichi 12-16-2008 11:08 AM

bai bai concerto gate D=?

I'd say it's developers fault, and ...if not mistaken, they [GameCampus] only allowed as to "host" the game and maintain it...other stuff like contents, bug fixes, game mechanics, source codes are from square enix itself...remember about those announcements where they said they're waiting for their JP's Square Enix replies?

I think they already forgotten about this, I could say...bye bye for CG, probably GameCampus will give up on this? Lol

._.;

HolyAbyssal 12-18-2008 04:11 AM

/goes emo
I HATE YOU SQUARE ENIX

Kotarou 12-22-2008 05:15 AM

CG has reached a point where I could even care less what happens to it. <_<

This is what happens when a game is delayed for too long, lol.

Miyuki 12-22-2008 06:23 PM

It's dead.

It's "unofficially" dead now ._.

HolyAbyssal 12-24-2008 11:31 AM

god, i just wish i would come out ;_;

Kris 01-21-2009 09:28 AM

IGN has changed the ETA to Q2 2009 (April 1 ~ June 30).
They wouldn't change it for no reason, so I guess GamesCampus gave them the new ETA.
I love how they tell us nothing on the forum "we don't have any news regarding the game, we'll update you guys as soon as we get them"... Yeah, right.

This delay could be due to the fact they haven't finished the english translation of the game, and blocked the areas on purpose during CB1. I can't imagine it would take 6~12 months to fix a single bug. Just a theory. But one thing is certain, GamesCampus know much more than they're willing to tell us.

Chesters 01-21-2009 01:57 PM

IGN approximates dates, you can't really trust those dates until it has been officially announced.
