Computer Desk

I've been looking around the IKEA and Staples site to find a new computer desk at a reasonable price that will be able to fit all of my peripherals and have extra storage compartments. Where are the best places to shop for good quality desks and computer tables at a good price no more than 300 dollars.
*I live in British Columbia

*I want to be able to fit my 24" monitor, computer, speakers and most importantly my mouse and keyboard on the same platform being able to fit my 355 mm x 254 mm mousepad.

So far I've found this desk at IKEA and it says its in stock at my local IKEA, will probably pick it up because it fits all of my needs and at a decent price.

Ikea's product are very good quality and price is reasonable. That desk looks fine, but I personally prefer the L shaped ones. I like the extra space for writing/doing work etc.

It's hard to pick desks online as you really need to see them in person. It took me about a week to find my current desk. I got it for $69.99 from Zellers. It's pretty big. Its the size of yours but 2 of them in a L shape. No compartments though. I just got a bookshelf from Ikea for $40.

If you're going for something cheaper, you can consider plywood.

Yea desks are hard to buy. Who knew? The one I use at home I got during Boxing day 2 years ago at Staples. The quality of anything made from wood seems to be degrading... Try Staples. They might have one.

I've looked at so many places and it seems like nothing beats my old desk -.-" I wanted something quite large but I can't seem to find a table that can fit my needs! Will be going to IKEA sometime today.

You could go to Home Depot and buy wood then design and build one yourself?

That would take a ton of time and probably be cost inefficient.

It depends on his room layout too. I like the L ones, or "corner" desks with shelves ontop of the desk up so I can reach stuff without going down.

When you said same platform, you meant your tower and monitor are on the same level? Wouldn't this desk be half useless to you? Unless you like to store things on the bottom~

If you're semi DIY, you can consider a deeper shelf as your desk.
Then drill a hole for the cables.

It is greener this way too, lesser wastage of materials.
