Sure you got the CPU to an extreme Ghz, but not in a practical home environment.
Liquid Helium is expensive and dangerous to work with, so even though they hit 7Ghz they really didn't accomplish anything other then a record.
Time and Money which could be better spent making more efficient CPU's and cooling units to support them.
So that many can benefit from the high speeds they obviously can reach.

Well people aren't exactly the best at prioritizing tasks.
Anyway you can tell they don't exactly have the best cooling units because 3ed party coolers usually do better than the CPU's Stock cooler.
