The default toolbars aren't really all THAT "useless". They're actually quite minimalist.
I have found that Google Chrome has some issues, notably with rendition of alpha channel-bearing PNGs; it doesn't respect the alpha channel, which, while not a show-stopper, is annoying.
However, I do have several major issues with Google Chrome:
- Collects information and reports back to Google (at least it's spelled out what it is and why, but I'm still uncomfortable about the fact I can't opt-out of some of them)
- Rude installer -- Only installs into your profile, doesn't give you the option of installing elsewhere
- Ms-PL-licensed components -- Don't know how compatible it is with the LGPL-/GPL-/MPL-tri-license which covers other components
I can't vouch whether and how well it works with well-known plugins--such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin, the Sun Java Plugin or the Adobe Flash Player plugin--since the second point alone was enough for me to remove it.
