Questions regarding Windows 7.
Should I upgrade from Windows XP to 7(or 8?)? (yes I'm using XP lol).

Dis/Advantages over one another?

I won't lose my files if I were to upgrade, right?

win 7 i'd say, on personal experience, it's faster, it boost faster and has a more advance resource monitor. and you have AERO, once you get used you cant just stop i find myself crushing tabs on top of the screen when on XP lol.
and no u wont loose your files unless you overwrite XP with 7 without saving files/making partition

If you don't have a decently up to date computer, don't bother. Otherwise, there's pretty much no reason not to.

you wont loose your files.

What's your PC specs? Many XP machines dont have enough ram to support W7. (1gb MINIMUM, 4gb reccomended.)

W7 is an improvement over Vista. W8 is terrible.

XP is amazing, but many things lack compatibility with it nowadays :/

So unless you're having issues with compatibility, i wouldnt upgrade. or should i say.. "downgrade" xD

I think my PC specs are fine for Windows 7, at the time of building it I had the option of either having XP or 7 installed, I chose XP for god knows what reason.

I have 3GB RAM.

I guess I'm going to upgrade then since Win7 is literally everything XP but better.

i don't think anyone here is saying that. i actually preferred the windows xp control panel, i still haven't gotten used to the win7 one after 2-3 months. the event viewer was also a lot easier to work with in win xp. the only reason i'd recommend windows 7 to someone is if they have more ram than windows xp can recognize by default or they absolutely must use dx11 for some reason.
