i don't have any ambitions. there's nothing i want t be. there's nothing i want to do. there's no where i want to be.

i have no concrete motivations.

but the thing is i used to. i used to have established wants for myself but at some points they just became "i guess that would be cool..."

i sometimes get annoyed at people with huge dreams.

"why do you think you can do that? don't you know how many people want that too? you have to be so talented to achieve that!" i would think.

that kind of thinking doesn't get you anywhere. when did i start thinking like this?

it happened during my first year at university. somewhere in there i threw my hands up and said ffff all of this. i began to discard each of my passions one by one.

and now...

now i'm a person with nothing to offer the world. a person with no goals and nothing to offer even myself.

I"m pretty much the same way. I don't think it's at all uncommon for young people. (iirc, you are young lol) I mean, in this age range, there's so much you can do that it just becomes overwhelming and eventually you lose your passion for any single thing because you don't know what you want. That's how it happened for me, at least. There's so much to do, and so much I can do, I don't know which path to take. Like I said, it's a bit overwhelming.

    Ugh. I'm exactly this.

I wanted to be a veterinarian. Then I wanted to become a pharmacist. Then I switched my goal to nursing. Then to environmental science. And now, animal rescue (as in going out into the world, capturing animals, and bringing them back to snuff so they can be reintroduced into the wild) is my goal. If I can do what I want to do, I'd get to travel, study animal behavior, and be physically fit. Knocks everything out in one blow. It would get me off the video games, at least.

But at the same time, I STILL don't know if I can achieve it, because I'm overly lazy and...stuff. And I 'm easily distracted.

thanks guys. as much as it sucks to be in this boat it makes me feel less bad to know that others are still trying to figure themselves out too.

soda, as you said there are so many different paths out there and it can be overwhelming. i'm graduating in may and one of my friends who is also graduating comes back to me almost every other day with a diff "dream career" in mind. lol

chrome, i think that you have the makings of a true career ahead of you. i think it's admirable that you were able to narrow it down do well. there are still people bouncing from vet to journalist which are vastly different fields.

i wanted to go into a field and my parents wouldn't let me go to the university i wanted to that had the field. i ended up attending this one closer to home. i love the friends i met here but it didn't have the academic program i wished to pursue.

i'm buried in job applications right now. and filling them out i'm realizing nothing is spectacular about any of these positions. marketing marketing and more marketing.

The bigger are the hardey they fall. Same with dreams. It's often said that it's better to go step by step with small achievements towards the victory. That way you'll feel that you really accomplished something and by putting your next goal a bit higher you'll think "Hey.. I can do this too as well" and you won't event notice how they pile up =w=/
