Shokotan Stalki… err Anime Expo Day 4 (w/ Pictures =D)

We woke up like 30 minutes late because we were out at IHOP until like 3 AM the day before. Ken had been waiting in line for a few hours to get tickets for the Shokotan signing so we had to join him. When we got there, the security guard told him that we couldn’t come in with him because only he had been waiting. So, we had to enact plan B.

What was Plan B? Exhibitor badges. We had acquired 2 exhibitor badges so we used them to slip into the Dealer’s Hall 10 minutes early. Once it was opened for the general public we switched our badges back and go tin line for tickets. Once again, we went off shopping while waiting for the autograph session.

At 11:30, she began signing autographs and this was our last chance to get a picture with her before the con ended. We tried everything and in the end, the closest we could get was from behind a table where she was signing. Leara got his COSMODE magazine signed and a poster and I got my Gurren Lagen poster signed <3

The rest of the day was filled with last attempt Shokotan stalking and air hockey. The game tally is now Leara: 2 – Me: 2. We’ll have to break this tie next year at Fanime. Closing ceremonies began at 5pm, we got one last picture with Vic Mignogna (voice of Edward Elric in English Fullmetal Alchemist), thanked our hookup that made us never have to wait in line, and then went back to Leara’s house.

After a good home-cooked Chinese meal and some last minute network troubleshooting I went back to the LACC to pick up the people that were riding back with me. I already was on defensive because of the incident that occurred on the way up (see: Anime Expo, Day 1 (with Pictures!) ) They actually turned out to be really cool and they’re in the last picture in this entry. Hopefully we can keep in touch and meet up next year!
