Raindrops and a half-eaten riceball | Who the hell is Mitchi?!
The incoherent ramblings of a Tzimisce trapped by a Tremere in a Toreador's body. Or maybe i'm just a Malkavian. My bad.

Vision - a short piece of fiction

((So, Cath and I both got the same Idea at roughly the same time and decided to do a "fiction quilt" so the speak. This is my first little "block" for the project, an impromptu piece.))

The day was perfect. A clear sky, not a single cloud, and air that was crisp and chilly. Autumn was easily my favorite season, which confused me, as I was never very resilient to the cold.

On this day, I convinced my lazy self that there were better things to do than to sit in front of the T.V. for several mindless hours. No, a walk was ideal for today. Well...Maybe after breakfast. And when I had a coat.

Despite the protesting of my atrophied legs, I managed to force myself to take a walk to the nearby park. The sun was shining just right, making the air slightly warm with a crisp wind. I suddenly remembered why exactly I adored autumn so much. The grass was still green from the last warm, rainy days of summer, and the leaves were just beginning to turn. The whole of my line of sight was a flurry of greens and reds and

Amidst all this natural beauty was something so out of place and unnatural that I couldn't help but do a double take. There, in this little clearing in the trees, was a girl, a petite young thing wearing a flowing blue dress with a red and purple sash, dancing and spinning, her fiery tresses a puppet of the wind. The leaves fell all around her like a dazzling rain of giant confetti, while the gentle breeze stirred them around at her feet. It was quite frankly one of the strangest things I had ever seen, but I was utterly spellbound. In a society where all we do is think about how best to fit in and what is considered "normal" for us, there was this little fairy, swaying and turning, moving to a gentle and silent melody of a blossoming autumn.

But most breathtaking was when she turned to see me, gawking at her like a fool. She looked at me, staring, and she smiled. By god she smiled at me. She didn't know me, and I probably looked really creepy, but..she just...smiled.

I wanted to run up and dance with her, to be whisked away by the rhythm of the falling leaves, and just forget about all the nonsense we put up with day to day. I wanted to just go to her and beg her to pull me into this little world of hers, to beg her to help me forget the woes of the masquerade we all were a part of. But I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. I couldn't see anything but this little sparkle of life and energy.

Without a word, the smiling little Fae pranced off, flowing with the breeze. By the time I was out of my trance, she was gone. The most beautiful thing I had ever encountered had wandered away and I would probably never see her again.

But the whole time I meandered home, I felt a little bit more alive, and the world, though dull and plain compared to her, seemed brighter and more colorful.

go easy on me guys, this is the first time I've written in nearly 5 months.
