Splenda .

So, today was unlike the days prior.
It was like I found a packet of Splenda on the counter. So I decided to add it to my lemonade.

School. Was actually pretty well today. Got a lot of stuff done, and I got my paper critiqued by my English teacher. The conversation went something like this:

"Kevin, your writing is nicely crafted. I can see your thought process clearly, and you give precise details where they need to be."
"Oh, really? For a second there, I thought you'd chew me out on the small things I've missed."
"Yeah, I can see those, but they're really minor mistakes. Really. They are. Sure, you missed a word, but everyone has their own ADD moments."
"Oh, wow. That's good to hear. I didn't think mine turned out very well, especially after reading those sample AP essays."
"Well, not many people turn out to hit that 9. In fact, most of my students hit 7 or 8. I wouldn't be surprised if you managed to hit that 9. The only thing that separates you from them is the general knowledge they have and their ability to craft, refine, and add to their paper within the time limit."
"That sounds great! I mean, all this time I've been aiming to get at least a 5."
"Don't say that. You can get much more than a 5. I know it."

Ego-boost? Sure. More like a confidence boost, though. For a long time, I've been kicking myself over and over again to learn to write better essays in order to really get there. I'm just one of those people who think of myself as "not the best" in order to achieve and strive for a higher goal.

Spanish went nicely, as well. My partner for the project showed up to school today (thank god) and we were able to talk to senora about getting an extension on the project (with her being gone and messing up our planned schedule, and the fact that I won't be able to help film over the weekend with me being out of town). To top it off, we had a vocabulary test. It went pretty well, too. Especially for an oral exam. I felt really good about knowing the words and how to define them. Accents aren't so bad when the teacher emphasizes the words.

4th period band wasn't bad, either, surprisingly. We didn't QQ about $$ for the first half the period like we normally do. Instead, we opened up the class with an amazing brass chorale -- "The Canterbury Chorale." It was an amazing, lyrical piece that we listened to as an example of "pushing and pulling" in music, and how it helps create a flowing sound.

Things are looking better. Just hope it continues this way.
Oh, and before I forget.

Kiwis are amazing.
No matter how small, no matter how large,
No matter how deformed it looks or how it manages to escape from the blade of my knife,
I can always find peace within it's symmetrical seed formation and intense green color.
