Why do Women have to get a Different Dress for Every Occasion?

Names have been changed. e.

Kotarou
: Good Morning, Alisha.
Alisha: Ohayou, Kou-kun.
Kotarou: Here, have a drink. What's up today?
Alisha: Thanks. The juniors are just prepping for orientation nite tomorrow, so yeah, I've gotta check on them after this.
Kotarou: I see. Hmm... actually, I heard an interesting "debate" of sorts over Mix.fm today - the question was "Why do women have to get a different dress for every occasion"?
Alisha: Kou-kun, that's a no-brainer. Obviously a girl has to look her best.
Kotarou: You're dodging the question.

Alisha: Oh. At any rate, it's normal fare - one of the reasons why a girl has to get a different dress is... well, I guess we'd not like for others to tell us "Hey, you're wearing the same dress again", I guess.
Kotarou: Pietro put forward that guys can pretty much live with the same clothes for most occasions.
Alisha: That's missing the point. Guys pretty much just need to wear a neat shirt, pants and a blazer to look smart. Unfortunately, girls can wear so many different things. It's a fashion statement thing.
Kotarou: I guess you're right...

Alisha: Incidentally, girls also don't want to have the same dress as someone else at the function... it's kinda embarrassing.
Kotarou: *laughs* I can just imagine.
Alisha: It's the LAW! It's the CONSTITUTION! You don't ask about these kinds of things - its just put down in the book.
Kotarou: I'm glad I'm a guy.
Alisha: You suck.

Kotarou: e. I thought PCK's "trade dresses" thing was a bit laughable.
Alisha: That's just stupid. Not everyone has the same sizes.
Kotarou: I know that already.
Alisha: There is an unspoken rivalry between girls to see who has the hotter dress. Now wouldn't you like your girlfriend to be the hawt chick of the party?
Kotarou: Actually, no. I want her for myself, thanks.
Alisha: Greedy.
Kotarou: I try my best.
Lt. Blingz: Yo, what's up?
Alisha: Hiya, Blingz.
Kotarou: We were just talking about how women need different dresses for functions.
Lt. Blingz: Haiyor, simple lah - so we can enjoy the eye-candy mah...

    Being seen in the same dress implies that you can't afford another one, and therefore make you look pitiful. o;
