A Langkawi Trip (Part 1)

More holiday entries for the win! This time, I'm taking you guys to Langkawi Island, the Isle of Legends, tax-free Chocolate, Alcoholic drinks, Cars, and cheap, cheap, Seafood.
Yes, tax-free chocolate (and alcohol, for you drinkers.). I could buy two Mars bars here at the measly price of RM2. That's normally equivalent to nearly ONE Mars bar outside, and then some.
At any rate, Langkawi is one of the must-see (must-visit-to-buy-cheap-stuff) destinations at Malaysia. De wa, here's a cheap Kotarou guided tour. *bows*
If you're coming from the mainland via ferry, one of the first attractions you probably want to see is this:
The Eagle, Eagle Square. You can find this baby right near the entrance of the ferry terminal. The Eagle seems to be an iconic symbol of Langkawi - you can see miniature Eagles pretty much all around.
If you're coming via Airplane, you'll land at the Langkawi International Airport. Try getting a decent car - I got a Nissan Sentra for about RM150~200. Get a map from the rental agency. :3
Head a little north and you'll see the Padang Beras Terbakar (Field of Burnt Rice). You're pretty much coming here to see some... Burnt Rice.
According to the legend, when a fight broke out between the Langkawians and the Siam, the Langkawi army chief felt that their rice supply might fall into enemy hands. He immediately ordered his people to burn the rice, and store what they needed under the ground in one spot. Now, burnt rice can be found at this location to this very day.
The strangest thing was that I could not see any burnt rice at all.
Even the display case for the burnt rice was broken into. What do they want it for? Eating?
