[Insert urge to go to "night life"]

Posted 08-30-2011 at 06:11 PM by kmelfina
So some LGBTQ introduction/discussion panel was part of my beginning college experience (before school started).

Anyways some of the freshmen students asked on "night life" aka "go out to some club to meet new people, hook up etc". Sounded interesting til the "possibility of older guys" turned me off Dx

I've been thinking about it... since my classroom lectures = no interaction and the hot guys are straight. My friend Gab said that I have a problem since I have crushes on straight guys. To me, I'm attracted to guys that are hot, they just happen to be straight. Which sucks... soooooooo much. Should I go to the clubs?

I just needed to get this off my chest badly lol.

You don't need to go to clubs to meet people, you know that right? Don't feel pressured to do it unless you really wanna go. It's fun and all, but clubbing to hook up isn't the kind of thing you shouldn't be looking for (especially since it can be dangerous).

And don't get so in the idea that suddenly you have no interaction with people in lecture classes. I don't know about in Virginia, but our lecture halls have you elbow-to-elbow with the people around you. Everyone's so crammed together, you need to do something like start a conversation to lighten the tension (and utter lack of interest in the class). You can meet up with people at the dining hall, or walking to class. Maybe even walking down the stairwell in your dorm building.

Now, I'm not stopping you from going out to parties and clubs. They're fun and all, but just be careful and don't overdo it. I've been to a couple my first year, and I had a pretty good time at most of them. Enjoy yourself, but don't feel the pressure or need to have to do certain things just to meet people, because that's how you make it sound.
