Do people honestly think...

...That Light mages in Trickster Online are not broken?

Stay with me now... this is a serious post.

Let's recap for those who don't know:

Part 1: The alternative

-Going Pure.
--General strategy > very high LK and HP
--A) Very hard to raise those stats to be effective without any myshop/boss sets.
--B) Accuracy is nice, however the damage is worse than hybrid (which is supposed to be focused on defense and healing, unless I missed something.)
--C) Only exclusive defensive skills don't defend the player at all, all they do is damage back upon being attacked based on your AC and LK (what?)
--D) Final attack skills fail to out-damage high up 2nd job skills such as Thunderbolt, Phoenix Rising, and Incinerate, to name a few. As well as the domain/space skills being useless in both PvP and PvM due to monsters not using elements often, and players not bothering about resistances.

Part 2: Light Witch

-Going Hybrid
--General strategy > High MA and decent LK
--A) Single stat builds of only MA benefit greatly: defense, magic defense, survivability, and damage output all in one. Does not need to sacrifice damage for defense, rather increases damage and defense at the same time.
--B) Has an upgraded set of healing skills to help stay alive.
--C) Has a shield based on the same stat that determines damage that increases DP and MD by a percent of your existing stats.
--D) Has another shield based on the same stat that determines damage that generates a recharging armor wall. The armor drops before HP does, and can be easily recast if dropping too low.
--E)Has a skill that heals a percent of the caster's HP constantly over a period of time.

Part 3: The Comparison

I showed this to a friend who has never seen or played Trickster Online, explaining what each stat meant, and how they relate to eachother, average values, etc. She literally burst out laughing asking me if I was serious. To quote her exactly: "Holy [deleted] are you serious? Is this game still running?"

True that this seems to affect more than one class in the game, and each experiences it in a different way. I'm DEFINITELY not claiming that all of the other classes are "alright" in terms of balance. All I'm doing is pointing out in plain form and easy to understand text that:

The Magic class in Trickster Online among other classes needs to be SERIOUSLY rebalanced in the coming Revo.

    Maybe it's not the whole magic class that needs rebalancing, but just Soul Masters. Hybrids/Priests/Dark Lords can pretty much already hold their own.

    Not only that, but pure lions got the complete shaft, since pure bunnies get 2 AP% buffs and 2 AC% buffs, while lions get none even if they go pure. Also, they don't have a shield and are void of any defensive skills (while powers have Guard, magics have Dark Barrier/Sheild of Heaven, and charms have Sumo Suit). Then they pretty much ruined a great leveling spot for lions by removing those gun weak bears from SF3.

    Yeah I see your point. Pure Sheep skills are weak in damage and practicality comparatively, though I still don't think that an under-powered class is a valid way to explain off how all the other classes are sufficiently over-powered.

    If you ask me the only mage class that should even come close to doing as much damage as pure sheep should be doing is maybe Dark. Light is a defensive class though as of now their AoEs are the strongest single hit magic AoEs.

    Pures don't just need stronger skills, they need more effective skills that relate to how the game is actually played in terms of survival and combat efficiency. Which Light Mages already seem to be over-equipped with.

    Yeah, light mages pretty much own in defense and offense. Sheeps should have the most accurate/strongest AoEs, not light mages. Light mages skills should be more accurate than Dark mages, but definately not stronger. <- This is where I believe the huge imbalance occurs. To remedy this, I believe they should of made SoH a priest-only skill, since it basically gives hybrids 3 defensive skills.

    The same argument could be about how Primadonnas pale in comparison to Gamblers (Full House does what Deadly Funk does + Damage and then there's the fart moves, while you need to be in Evo to do Sharp Scream) and Champions to Gladiators (uh, Guard Break/Guard/Eagle Eye/Desperate Rally (> Berserk since you can control yourself)/Adrenaline/Flaming Fist/etc.).

    Yeah SoH is a pretty over-the-top skill for only 2nd job. But then again so is Incinerate... Thunderbolt... Phoenix Rising... etc. There's a whole bunch of 2nd job skills even outside of the magic class that are just as powerful and in some cases more useful than the 3rd job skills offered.

    As much as I'm looking forward to the map and quest revamps in the coming DNA project, I'm hoping that they take a lot more time to balance the characters and skills that will be used to play those maps / quests / the entire game. IMO it's more important a matter.
