LOL. Since I couldn't think of a title, I typed the first thing that came to my mind.

Onward we go! As some members may have seen, I began typing my own blogs. [Mirae's Blog.]
The difference between these two is that my personal blog is about delving into my thoughts & personal feelings while this blog is...well staff and random stuff that happened.

That's not what I am typing this blog for though. .__.

While at my university sitting in the library, I was reading my Sociology textbook about Education. I found something pretty funny about male versus female comparisons.
"...Girls are performing a little too well, surpassing boys in their education outcomes. How true are these assertions?
  1. Girls outperform boys in national reading and writing tests (and score roughly equal to boys in math).
  2. They also attend college in higher numbers and are more likely to graduate.
  3. Women represented a larger portion of degree recipients for all levels except doctoral degrees but even this gap was slight.
Boys are more likely to engage in risky behaviors and experience serious problems at school, they also make up a larger proportion of those taking calculus and science AP tests, and, on average, they score higher on those tests than girls.
In addition, boys score higher than girls on every AP test except foreign languages.
Claudia Buchmann, Thomas A. DiPrete, and Troy A. Powell (2006) found that among students born before the mid-1960s, girls achieved as much education as boys only when both parents were college-educated.
Boys seemed to do equally well in school regardless of their parentsí education.

The opposite pattern emerged for students born after the mid-1960s. Girls from all backgrounds started to do better in school.
At the same time, boys living with single mothers or in households where the father had a high-school education or less started doing much worse.
The "..." means there were some other context in-between but since they aren't important. IGNORED!
Girls are too smart for us now! Even though girls out beat us in all this, their wage is ~75% that of a male worker. That's still a flaw in our working society. :/

This whole education subject goes on about other things like effect us, like Race, Ethnicity, Family, Teachers, Private versus Public, etc.

Blah blah blah. I have another Sociology quiz this Friday.../snores.

Try to put this into the equation: Most teachers are women.

And if the teacher has a slight hint of sexism/chauvinism, and expect that boys should give favors to girls, then hmmhmhmhm~
