"Bri" rhymes with "Guy" and they both rhyme with "Fly".

Title is unrelated.

So here it is, four weeks since my last blarg post. And I started this whole piece of ridiculous off by saying that I wanted to post once a week at least. Oh well.

Anyhow, time for me to ramble. There is now one week until I travel from my home to a place of higher education approximately three hours away. As you could imagine, this is an exciting and also kind of nerve-racking experience, and I haven't even experienced it yet. Funny how that works. But yeah, I'm wicked excited about going to college. I mean, it's going to cost me every penny I have and then some, which may leave me with relatively little to spend on other things *coughcoughffxicoughcoughtalesoftheabysscoughcough * but I figure it's got to be worth it. (Yes, my hobbies are all worthwhile and constructive. All of them.) I'm expecting a fun time though. My first semester consists of Calculus (meh, but I'm good at math so not terrible), Physics (also meh, but really it's just more math), a "humanities" (whatever that means) class dealing with society on the Internet (I'm expecting awesome things to happen in that class), and a programming course (basically the entire point of going to college, so I'm happy about it). The programming course I'm in is the second-level course, as I got a 5 (the highest possible score) on the AP Computer Science exam, allowing me to skip the first-level programming class. Jump forward (well, backward from today but forward from when I found out about my AP score... I swear that makes sense) to orientation, and I find out that the first programming class is an optional class that I wouldn't have taken anyway. All that AP work for nothing, you could say. Oh well. It's sure to be worth it somehow.

Alright, I ran out of steam on the whole college thing. Let's find something else to talk about...

Anime!

Anime I have been watching recently include Angel Beats! (watched it and loved it and watched it again and loved it again), Toradora! (Haven't watched the entire thing but I love what I've seen... what's with the exclamation marks?), and Azumanga Daioh (Again, I haven't seen all of it. I think about half.) I also recently saw the first episodes of Arakawa Under the Bridge and Futakoi Alternative, both of which I intend to pursue further.

Given my propensity to watch anime and my propensity to like food, sometimes when food is brought up in anime I get an urge to try said food. For example, dango (Clannad), Mapo tofu (Angel Beats!), bento (every single high-school anime ever, and yes I do understand that bento isn't a type of food per se, but you still get the point, oui?)... Out of those, Mapo tofu is kind of sticking out to me the most. It may have something to do with the fact that Angel Beats! is a pile of sheer amazing so amazing that it is hard to comprehend, or that Mapo tofu is spicy (and I love spicy) or a combination of both. Probably the combination. What I'd really like to do, however, is to try my hand at making it. To have such an awesome-sounding (and I would assume awesome-tasting) dish, and to have made it myself, would just be epic.

Other thing! Umineko no Naku Koro ni! Heard of it? Maybe you have, maybe you have not. It is a visual novel with really terrible art (we're talking sub-ZUN art skill) and really cool music (we're talking close to ZUN-level music skill). I've been playing it a bit (emphasis there is on the "a bit") and, well, I don't actually know what to say about it. The story so far is kind of meh and boring, but from all accounts this is a massive case of "the beginning really sucks, once you get past that it's made of win." I suppose I'll have to keep playing and find out. Although I use the word "playing" very lightly, as the extent of player interaction is "press the spacebar to scroll the text." Ah well, I think I'll like it more as it goes on. It is, however, the source of this. Combine that with rainymood.com for instant relaxation!

And with that, I'm off to bed. And before midnight this time! Ha!
