"Bri" rhymes with "Guy" and they both rhyme with "Fly".
Not a blog, but a blarg.
Which isn't to say that I'm complaining, or sick, or something like that; I've just decided to call this a blarg instead of a blog. I suppose it doesn't help that I've been pronouncing "blog" as "blarg" for the past few days, but whatever, it's not a really big deal.
And suddenly I feel at a loss. For the past few days, I've already known what I want to talk about before posting. Today I don't. So... Astro Empires.
Astro Empires is an MMO-strategy browser game. Perhaps some of you have heard of it, or even played. It's actually really cool. It looks very simple on the outside, but it's actually extremely complicated and full of math. Think like Europa Universalis except with fewer graphics. The basic premise is that you are an emperor (Whether you are nice or evil doesn't really matter, your "subjects" are never even mentioned.) with control over a planet. You build things like power plants, spaceports, shipyards, and the like. The main goal, more or less, is to earn more money. Money is earned hourly and is determined by the economic value of your base and the trade routes you have with other players. More bases can be built on empty planets as long as you have the right sort of ship. Money can also be earned by occupying other bases. Eventually, you can build a bunch of spaceships and fly around and attack other people's bases, while building up defenses on your own base to keep from being taken over by someone else. When you conquer another base, you take a certain percentage of the base owner's money, and you get the opportunity to "plunder" their trade routes. Plus, the game has a guild system which allows players to team up and support each other, which is basically a must.
So yeah, all in all it's a fun game. I enjoy it, and I downright suck at strategy games in general.
If'n you like, check it out at http://www.astroempires.com. I play as "BriGuy92" on the Epsilon server.
