It's been a long two months since I last posted here. Wtf, I thought I was doing better than that. It was supposed to be a weekly entry. I moved and didn't have Internet for a month but I don't remember what happened before that.
Yeah, we finally managed to get our modem set up. But that was before we had to contact an electrician to set up the phone jack that they neglected to put in before we moved in. And that's not the only thing either. The toilet stunk, the bathroom walls bear graffiti, the stove fan had no filter, there were random holes drilled in the bathroom walls, the windows wouldn't shut all the way, the kitchen sink leaks, etc. ;_;
We're addressing all these problems little by little. The place is becoming more comfortable and livable as the days go by. It sucked not having any Internet connection for an entire month. I assumed it would be only a week or so. Oh well, I'm back and I'm going to be in business again. Hohoho.
Thanks to the hectic nature of the move and the apartment we moved into, compounding the fact that I've been sick with the cold virus for the past week, I didn't have any free time yet to start recording anything for Youtube. I beat Dark Cloud 2 and started playing Tales of Legendia on the PS2.
Yesterday I attempted to start recording Final Fantasy I DOS for the GBA and it went well. I was planning on making a Let's Play out of that and we'll see how that goes. Like I said in my previous blog entry... 2 months ago.
I've been trying cooking a lot more since we moved here. Trying out different things like spaghetti, meatballs, pasta, and what not. I want to try making some bulgolgi in the near future. It's all a matter of hunting down the right ingredients.
I also have quit smoking as of last weekend. Wasn't too hard to drop it cold turkey like I feared it would be. It's funny, as if people who say they can't quit are just giving excuses. Haha. Probably because they are.
Anyway, I'm running out of things to say for now so peace out.

Bulgogi isn't that hard. I could dig through my korean cookbooks to pull a recipe for you if you like. The thing you have to remember though is it's best cooked over an open flame, bbq style, since, well, "bulgogi" translates to "fired meat."
Pan frying bulgogi doesn't work as well, but it's sorta passable.Posted 09-27-2010 at 02:16 AM by Mitchi

Congrats on quitting smoking! Every time I hear someone moan about smoking I always say "just quit giving excuses and quit." but they always say "WELL YOU JUST DON'T KNOW HOW ADDICTING IT IS BECAUSE YOU'VE NEVER SMOKED" and I say "just quit giving excuses and quit." :P
Feels good to hear an actual smoker successfully quit and understand that.Posted 09-27-2010 at 09:00 AM by SOC

@Sodacan: Haha. Got one in the works but I think it'll be pretty lackluster for starters.
@Mitchi: My mom always pan fried her bulgolgi and it would come out so good, IMO. At Korean barbecue restaurants it gets cooked over an open flame and it's definitely best like that. *drool* I've seen a few recipes online but maybe you can pass some over to me. I don't have a grill yet so I'll have to pan fry.
@orphan & SOC: Thank you! I was a smoker for over two years and it feels great to get rid of the stuff. They say it's a one month effort to break a bad habit, but it won't be difficult.

Use a cast iron pan, they work great for it (that's what I use since I have no grill ;_; ). Also, make sure the pan is hot before putting in the meattttt
Also, if you go cast iron, make sure to season it properly first so your food doesn't get rust in it, and don't use soap for the same reason, and so Ethane and I don't find you and beat you :<
Here's what I found (for 2 pounds):
3 tbsp Soy sauce
1/2 cup Chongju rice wine
1 Asian pear, peeled and grated OR 4 tbsp lemon juice
2 green onions, white and pale green part, finely minced
3 cloves garlic, crushed and finely chopped
4 walnut halves, finely chopped
2 tbsp corn syrup (personally I would use sugar, this is just what the recipe says >_>)
1 tbsp sugar (lol)
1tbsp sesame oil
1tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
pinch of salt.
And Kochu (red pepper flakes) for garnish if y want (kochu are those bright red FLAKES, not the seeds and stuff).
I haven't tried this one myself, I still have some of the marinade I had from before I got this book.Posted 09-27-2010 at 11:11 PM by Mitchi
