Default Using Whey Protein and Exercise

Hi guys, my mom got me something called Whey Protein that I'm using after exercise but I'm unsure of how much to use. So far after an hour workout, I've been using one scoop mixed into one bottle of water. Would that be the right amount?

And also my arms are usually sore the next day, but do i continue to still workout?

From my experience, I think you're suppose to exercise your muscles every other day when doing anaerobic methods (e.g. weight lifting).

- Don't mix it with just water, mix it with things like yogurt, milk or ice cream to boost the protein or whatever other nutrition your are looking for.

- I think it doesn't really matter but a lot of people take whey protein right after workout and take creatine right before workout (and before sleeping)

- 1 scoop is fine I think...but it also depends on your weight/height & your workout itself

- if you just started working out, sore arms = good

- Don't stick with one brand, try to rotate between different brands so your body doesn't get used to it

- don't workout more than 30-40 mins unless you also do cardio

general rule with protein is 1.5 grams of protein per pound of muscle in your body. generally you don't really need this stuff unless you exercise frequently or you cant get it in your diet without eating more than you can stuff in your mouth.

you should take around 10-40 minutes after working out.

get a blender. put ice in it then add half of the water content and the other half is milk. add a banana and the powder. blend. drink.

there's lots of blender protein recipes out there. some people put peanut butter and stuff in there. google.

wow I completely forgot about the 1.5g norm...lol

Be careful with the peanut butter...
